Who wants to try their hand at running the next GM a Team game?

State your case here. If we get more than 1 willing to do the job we will have an in thread vote to determine who takes over the mantle.

Just a few nominations:

Tmac
Gremz
Mascot
Sambone

Come on guys, who wants it?

^^Instead of nominations (since some people don't want to be commish) I think we should keep this thread clear and just let those who want it to state their case. Put a week deadline on this, and then bring it to a vote if there are no objections. That's just my two cents. And I don't want to commish, in case I haven't made that clear in the past.

If we're nominating people.

I'm not interested, but I think LBJ4MVP23 or sterncohen would do an awesome job.

Most of the usual GM's would do a very good job and are more then qualified, but those 2 stand out in my mind the most.

SamBone has been mentioned a couple of times and he would do a very good job as well.

Thanks for the mention bcortell, but I think I might set the next round out completely. I'm a little "over" GM a Team atm, perhaps a break would get me back into it.

I actually think you would be a good commish.

Don't you remember last time I (along with sterncohen) tried to run the game? That was a disaster!

You were the best commish we've ever had, hands down. Too bad you only did it for 1 and a half games.

I liked klomp's ideas, and mascot or sambone sound pretty good to me also.

Hopefully the next commish will learn from the mistakes of the predecessors. Email the lazy bastards that can't keep up with the threads 8-) , make sure we know who is on what team by enforcing some type of rule towards that goal, not let the game fizzle out from too long of a lull during draft/FA, and get the results of voting posted in a timely manner(depends on how we roll next go round).

and

Hopefully we can get the rankings for the draft/Finals as well as FA signings done in a manner that helps insure an acceptable outcome for most GMs.

Good luck Commish, whomever that may be...

FWIW I doubt TMac or Sambone will take the gig, Mascot has expressed some interest, Klompp may be prodded into it, as for others :dontknow:

How about we just let the commish have a team? I think that is what is scaring people away....

Here school restarts on the Feb 25th for me and i plan to be out of town from the 19th-24th.

And then when the game is ending in May, a lot of people will have finals. Could we start it way earlier, like, as soon as a new commish is picked? January into April would be a much better timetable.

agreed

Just look at what happened when LBJ and sterncohen had teams and were acting as commissioner.

Ya I tried to run a team as well as being a commish, hard to make it work. Goodluck to whoever commishs the game next, its a thankless job Skorff and r0cd0gg did a great job. Easier to win these games then run them IMO.

well somewhat of the idea of Feb was because then its after the trade deadline so real team rosters are set.

I expect major salary clearing this year at trade deadline.

but if we want to start right away then we can i guess.

I for one would prefer an earlier start but whatever the majority wants is fine by me.

So far nobody else has come forward to be considered for the gig, if it remains that way for the next couple of days and most want an early start to the next game then I say go ahead and get the ball rolling Mascot.

My name has been thrown around on here. While I feel like I could probably do a good job, I'm not sure I have the time to commit to it. Mascot seems real interested, and I trust will not take the position lightly.
