GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades

RULES
1. Your Roster MUST be updated to its fullest before a trade will be approved.
Depth-chart, Salaries, Draft Picks, Transaction History.
eg. Your roster must be up to date PRIOR to the trade you are posting.

2. DO NOT change your rosters until the trade has been approved.

3. All trades must include FULL salaries.
eg. if a player makes $3,722,567 I want to see that NOT $3.7

4. Trades will use the 125% + $100,000 rule for making trades for teams over the soft cap.
eg. if Billy Bob is traded and makes 1,000,000 then the max salary HIS team can take back is
$1,000,000 x 1.25 + 100,000 = $1,350,000

5. BYC and PPP will be taken into account for those players that its applies to, read about that here please http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q74

6. Signing MIN contract players. Send me and email Arkavious989@hotmail.com. I will announce it and email you back, I will have to keep a separate list of these to know who is gone and who is not. Players can only be signed from the dleague. No players from europe are eligible until the offseason.
Waived players can be claimed by emailing me, I will email you back and post in the trades thread if you are able to sign them. Min contracts anyone can pick up. Players who are waived who are making more than the MIN can only be signed by teams that are under the cap and have enough room to pick them up. Players DO NOT clear waivers in this game. If a player was making 5 million they cannot be signed for the min. Hoever, if you look at sham Cap Exceptions section, some teams still have their Bi annual exception and their MLE. These can also be used to sign players who make more than min, but you would have to pick up their total contracts still.

7. Both Parties have to accept the trade. The 24 hour time clock does not start until the second person accepts the deal.

8. A short statement on why you are doing the trade is required. A simple I am doing this to shed some salary while still maintaining my core type thing is acceptable if that's what it is.

9. Veto requests are to be sent to me at Arkavious989@hotmail.com. Right now every GM will have unlimited veto's, if i find the same GM is emailing me on every trade I will set a number.

10. Waived players count against your cap for the amount owed to them. Unguaranteed deals count for the amount that is guaranteed obviously. With min contracts that are "fully" unguaranteed they will account for the amount of the season that has been played in Real Life.
eg. If you have a guy who is unguaranteed for 800,000 and your team in RL has played 50 games then he counts for 50/82 x 800,000 = $487,804 cap hit for this season.

11. Trades have to keep you within the roster limits. 12-15 players. If you have 14 and a trade will make you go below 12 you can sign a player before the trade. If you have 15 and and a trade takes you to 16 you will have to waive a player BEFORE the trade. Simply state: Prior to the trade _Team_ waives _Player_

12. Maybe more to come.

Example
Sacramento and New Orleans Have a Deal to Announce

New Orleans Trades
Kirk Hinrich $9,500,000
Jared Jeffries $6,466,600
$15,966,600

Sacramento Trades
Kenny Thomas $8,775,000
Marcus Banks $4,553,793
Sean May $825,497
2011 Chicago First
$14,154,290 x 1.25 + 100,000 = $17,792,862 > $15,966,600

Sacramento is glad to have a player of Hinrichs capabilites coming our way, he wil be a great PG/SG that can run the floor with the rest of our team. Also his experience with Deng was a big part of this trade for me. It also allowed me some flexibility with my roster and room for more trades that I couldnt really do without a sure PG on the roster.

Sacramento Accepts

Happy Trading

The Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns have a trade to announce.

Indiana Pacers Trade:
SG Dahntay Jones $2,500,000
PF Josh McRoberts $825,497
2012 1st Round Pick (Top 12 Protected)
=$3,325,497

Phoenix Suns Trade:
SF Earl Clark $1,766,280
C Robin Lopez $1,745,520
=$3,511,800

In this deal, the Pacers moved a very good player in Dahntay Jones, but we will miss his production, but he was a luxury we couldn't afford. In this deal, we nab two young building blocks for our future.

Pacers Accept

Phoenix and Indiana have a deal to announce

Phoenix Trades:

PF - Earl Clark - $1,766,280 / $1,898,760 / $2,031,240 (TO) / $3,008,266 (TO)
C - Robin Lopez $1,745,520 / $2,867,320 / $2,866,336 (TO) / $4,007,137 (PO)

Indiana Trades:

SG - Dahntay Jones - $2,500,000 / $2,500,000 / $2,700,000 / $2,900,000 (PO)
PF - Josh McRoberts - $825,497 / $885,120 (TO)
2012 1st Round Pick (Top 12 Protected)

Phoenix carry out this trade to add some defensive ability to the shooting guard position, and help clear a path for a Jason Richardson to leave the team. Jones is on an affordable contract, and I am of the belief that Nash will get the best out of him. Josh McRoberts enables the trade to be completed and covers the gap left in the PF depth chart, whilst the 2012 draft pick allows Phoenix to pick up someone of equal talent to one of the departing players in the future. Clark and Lopez are under-utilised in the uptempo system, and the team is structured to be successful before Nash retires.

Phoenix Accepts

The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns have reached an agreement.

Prior to this deal LAL takes on Taylor Griffon(min contract) from PHX to make the roster limit requirement.

Andrew Bynum/Lamar Odom/Adam Morrison/Shannon Brown

for

Amare Stoudemire/Leandro Barbosa

$12,500,000 + $7,500,000 + $5,257,229 + $1,990,000 = $27,247,229
$6,250,000 + $7,500,000 + $5,257,229 + $1,990,000 = $20,997,229 x 1.25 + 100g = $26,346,536 > $22,978,325

$16,378,325 + $6,600,000 = $22,978,325 x 1.25 + 100g = $28,822906 > $27,247,229

The math works with Bynum's BYC

LA is sad to lose our young big man but with Pau extended we felt getting a better compliment was important. Amare should work out great at PF next to Pau and not fight for the same floor space. Barbosa will also be inserted in to the starting lineup at PG and his ability to stretch the floor will come in handy. It hurts to lose Odom but it is a price we were willing to pay for filling out the starting unit. We will now be putting our efforts into extending Amare/Kobe and finding a backup PF/C.

Lakers accept this trade proposal.

Phoenix Accepts the trade proposal.

Losing Amar'e is painful, however I am not confident I could put the right pieces around him to make him stay. Acquiring Bynum gives a legitimate Center and someone who will potentially thrive with Nash feeding him the ball. Bynum will be more motivated as the number 1 option, allowing this team to make the steps required to reach the next level. Adding Odom complements Bynum well, he has the versatility to stretch the floor and perhaps makes Phoenix the best passing team with Nash, Hill & Odom in the lineup. Odom should also thrive in the uptempo system. Shannon Brown's arrival gives a 3rd string guard to work with, whilst Adam Morrison comes in as trade bait for teams looking to remove contracts from their roster.

OKC needs to waive someone to make roster space. 15 player maximum remember, this trade would put him at 16.

OKC trades:

James Harden (4.0)
Nick Collison (6.25)
BJ Mullens (1.12)
Kyle Weaver (0.87)
2010 PHO 2nd

MIL trades

Andrew Bogut (10)
Carlos Delfino (3.5)
Jodie Meeks (0.65)

OKC outgoing: 12.25
OKC incoming: 14.15

MIL outgoing: 10.45 (Bogut = 6.3 cause of BYC)
MIL incoming = 12.25

Milwaukee does this to get a young SG next to Jennings. It hurts losing our defensive anchor, but we have a bunch of centers anyway, and we get a pick and take a flyer on Mullens

same problem again, OKC would have 16 players. Also if you could put full salaries there it would be great instead of 3.7 etc.

James Harden $4,004,160
Nick Collison $6,250,000
Byron Mullens $1,120,200
Kyle Weaver $870,968
12245328

Andrew Bogut $10,000,000
Carlos Delfino $3,500,000
Jodie Meeks $650,000
14150000

EDIT: my bad looked at it the wrong way.

My bad I assumed we would be starting this game like all the past games... able to go above/below roster limits for the offseason so to speak and then after about a week the rosters need to be trimmmed.

No worries I except taking Taylor Griffin on to make this deal work. He is a min contract player so won't affect the math.
