Hard Cap Roster Tourney

This game is really similar to the C.A.T and BANT games we have had in the past with a couple of differences. Here's a run through of the rules.

1. Maximum Hard Cap at 65 Million. At NO point while drafting or Trading players can your team go over 65 Million. We will be using HoopsHype to determine Player Salaries. So it is important to not just pick players making the maximum you must also look at some players on the rookie scale and try to get a steal.

2. Trading is allowed to begin after all 10 rounds of the draft are completed. The window to trade players will be 48 Hours. SO there can be no trading of the Picks.

3. You may omit yourself from the 10th round of the draft if you feel that you have a great 9 man rotation, so therefore you could spend 65 million over 9 players, perhaps getting better talent, or just you ran out of money. I will be carefully monitoring player salaries and if i see that you will be over the cap by the 6th round you will have to start drafting players who are making the minimum.

4. Draft position will be determined by a randomly generated process either conducted by me or another player in the game or just a 3rd party.

5. Rounds will follow the ABBABABABA format. NO Discussions to change this as i feel with a hard cap this is more then fair.

6. Timeline: I would like to have the draft process completed over the next 3 Days (ie Thursay, Friday, Saturday) if you know you are going to be away from the computer alot PLEASE dont register for this tourney. If you are going to be away for a few hours just leave a list with the 1 or 2 players that are picking after you.

7. This tourney will consist of 8 Teams. When it comes to matchups it will also be randomly generated and no team gets a bye so this tourney will consist of 3 rounds. The reason why i have it at 8 teams is because i find after you get more then 3 rounds players start to not be active as much.

8. You must update your roster with your player and salary after each pick, to make it easier for your fellow opponents.

9. Your writeup must contain your starting lineup, minute distribution, key matchups, offensive and defensive strategy.

10. Judging: We will not have any external judging, all players in this game will judge each matchup except for their own. If a player does not judge each matchup they will be disqualified and lose their own matchup. Once eliminated from the game the player can still judge future matchups. When Judging a matchup you much explain in at least 50 words or more why you believe that team is superior compared to the losers. I just dont want to see: Team A in 6 Games.

11. I have not decided when writeups are due, just for the mere fact that there could be a chance that the draft process takes more then 3 days

12. If you are interested in this game make sure you are active over the next 72 hours because thats when i would like to have all rounds of the draft completed. AS WELL YOU MUST HAVE AIM TO PLAY IN THIS GAME, OR HAVE ANOTHER PLAYER IN THE GAME VOUCH FOR YOU THAT YOU RESPOND PROMPTLY TO EMAILS.

If there is something that i missed can someone let me know and i can add it on to the rules.

^ 16 would add an additional round of writeups as well make the draft take a lot longer, which is why i stuck to 8.

and I guess we could go with shamsports

8 is such a small amount, how about a happy medium of 12?

It would make things more interesting at least.

I guess we can go with 12 but i really want to start the draft either late tonight or tomorrow mid-day the latest..

Will see how much interest there is over the next few hours and we can perhaps go to 12.

I was just wondering how we would do the finals with 3 people remaining would it be 2 writeups against both your opponents?

Round Robin, same as the last ATL tourney.

On another note, if you stick to 8, feel free to give my spot up to someone if there is additional interest.

I probably shouldn't be pushing for more participants based on my past luck with draft positions. I always seem to be towards the bottom lol.

but

as CD said "round robin"

As much as I appreciate the offer and would love to snag LeBron I am also just as willing to play the hand I was dealt.

Thanks for the offer CD.
