For those who aren't baseball fans, baseball has a stat called pitch count which is simply the number of pitches the pitcher has thrown in the game. It is useful, because generally there is a certain number were a pitchers effectiveness falls off.
Does anyone know if there is a website that has a stat called minute count? The stat would look something like this:
First 10 minutes in a game: box score production
2nd 20 minutes in a game: box score production
If this isn't available I would love to see a stat website put it out there. We could find out if a coach is too quick to rest one of his players and a lot of other interesting information.

I don't know of any website that tracks it, but I do know that the Miami Heat track it, for one thing. Their rotation with Beasley was very tight the past two years, and fans used to complain about it, so when one of the beat writers asked Spoelstra point-blank about it, he said their stats say his effectiveness tails off dramatically after ~9 minutes of continuous play. So they never let him play more than 9 minutes.
So there are people out there tracking and using it.

Hrm. This would be a pretty damn cool stat. Quarter by quarter production too would be nice...you'd get to see if certain players really do disappear in the 4th quarter. I think the Hoopdata.com guys produce their advanced box score stuff using game logs and a custom parser. Maybe we should Tweet them and ask them if it wouldn't be too hard to do something like this...

Thanks for this info. I think it would be very interesting if this was publicly available as it would allow fans to critique players and coaches more accurately.
