to a casual to average basketball fan.

A) A way to measure a players impact on his team when he is in the game relative to the average player

B) A measure of a players value to his team in his primary role

C) A measure of a players combined offensive and defensive impact relative to game score

D) A silly stat you don't need

E) None of the Above, ___ is most correct, but I'd put it like this ___________________

I'd put it somewhere between A and B. To me it is a measure of impact of a player while on court adjusted for the strength of others on the court. However it won't tell you how good that player is, just how good he is at his particular role. If his role is changed, or his team is changed, his impact will also likely change.
