On the years they disagreed, I counted more where I favor the MVP vote's pick... but overall WS/48 does a good job

Pretty cool - I think WS/48 clearly yielded the better results. It gives Shaq, MJ, and Lebron - the 3 greatest players in the past 25 years - more MVPs. The Downside is it does this at the expense of some pretty deserving MVPs - Duncan, Olajuwon, Malone.

WS/48 also reverses some undeserved MVPs - Rose MVP to Lebron, the Nash (system) MVPs go to Dirk instead, CP3s historically amazing season in 07/08 taking away Kobe's only MVP, Barkleys MVP goes to Jordan, etc.

Voters don't like to give it to the same player every year, so they look for excuses to vote for someone else (i.e. Rose over Lebron). They also like to give career/body of work awards (Kobe, Malone, Barkley) despite other players having better seasons.
