Hello, I am a starting to get into NBA analytics.
Victor Oladipo -0.3340276301210184

Kevin Durant -0.21607728095215498
Damian Lillard -0.20995817904965428
Kyrie Irving -0.20009765370682792

LaMarcus Aldridge 0.0955764396673047
Anthony Davis 0.1250447977355286
Lebron James 0.1284857584512797
Giannis Antetokounmpo 0.17855856876985784
This is the correlation between FGA and +/- of the team result for the 10 best scorers in the 2017-18 NBA season. What do you guys think about this stat?
Westbrook very negatively correlated with the amount field goals he attempts, not surprising at all to be honest, allways starts hero-balling when they are losing.
One thing that is not taken into account is that in games against easy opponnents the main stars might shoot less.
Otherwise the guys with negative correlations seem to be more perimeter shooters.

When you say +/-, do you mean +/- with the player on the court? Or his team's +/- both on and off the court?

Re: Correlation between team result and FGAs
I used the team +/-. I computed another correlation with +/- when the player was on the court, I suppose this correlation might be better.

I was thinking I was not really looking for any correlations between attributes before I was only looking at how attributes of certain players are correlated. Now I calculated the top 10 positive and negative correlations between attributes in the basketball reference boxscore.

One thing I started to do once that I'd be interested in is correlation between individual GameScore (from BBref) and Team +/-, I started to look into it once with Curry/Durant but didn't really get any farther.

I will try something similar too, basically stat-padders would have a negative correlation for this two attributes.

Anything done on this front yet? No rush, just curious.
