actually, according to RGM's top 100 list, 3 of the Top 6 GOAT :p

Actually there has been a quite decent parallel in NBA history (except that the 3 stars were on the downside of their careers).

Wilt going to LA to join West/Baylor combined the player most consistently called the best in the sport who didn't have the rings of his main competitor (Wilt/Russell -- LeBron/Kobe) to join a player everyone accepted was one of the top 3 guards in basketball (West -- Wade) and one of the top forwards (though Baylor was much higher ranked than Bosh). The Lakers had a great season, but lost to the Celtics in Bill Russell's last gasp, then had injury issues with their stars to the point that the 3 never really played another full season together and while Wilt/West won a ring, it was with Baylor out for the season (and career).

At least here we can look at how combining all this talent impacted their statistics and created synergies to the extent that they did play together.

Miami's trio are 3 of the top players in the league. That team was the top 3 players in the league.

It'd be like having Kobe/Bron/Wade or Shaq/Kobe/Duncan.

Lebron/wade/bosh would have a shot against MJ/Pippen and Rodman or Bird, McHale and KJ or Magic/Kareem and Worthy, but against magic/bird/jordan, are you kidding?

fact is they would lose against all of them.
