Its not a coincidence that the best players have the highest PER.
Its a very useful statistic and can weed out media players vs actual good players.

PER does show how overrated Bryant is for one thing.
Sure he shine's at time's, but he also has thrown out countless stinkers.
Most overrated player of this generation hands down.

Prime D.Rob was on the same level of a young and rookie Shaq. At worst he was only slightly below him. Playoff time and intangibles are probably the only thing that really separates them.

Jordan's PER was lower in the championship years than when he was by himself.... weird how that works... it's almost like an elite player on a bad team where he has to do everything himself has a higher PER...
wow would you look at that, Kobe's PER is highest in 2006 and 2007! amazing!

I guess if PER shows how overrated Kobe is, team play shows how overrated Lebron is because Kobe and Lebron have the same PER at this point in the season even though Kobe is 7 years older.
