Clutch stats from this season are out thanks to 82games.com
http://www.82games.com/1011/CSORT11.HTMWhat do you guys see?
As a Lakers fan... Kobe leads all players in clutch scoring per 48min. That's what he does. Yayyy.......
BUT........ look at the stuff that matters. Kobe is shooting 38.5% in the clutch this year. And his +/- per 48min in crunch time is at -9... w t f. A guy like Kobe shouldn't be in the minus. Looking at his page you see that his W-L in crunch time is 7-8 (meaning that in the 15 games where he qualified for this, the Lakers got outscored while Kobe was in the game the majority of the time).
On the other hand, Dirk is 2nd place in scoring in the clutch, he is shooting 60% in the clutch, and leads everyone in with a +/- of +43 per 48min.
Anyone else surprise/impress you?

That's a typo, the 09-10 stats were last updated then and look much different from these stats (which show Amare on the Knicks and all).
And I'm not impressed with Kobe is the problem...

Impressed? The only thing he's leading in is volume, which is typical of Kobe.
.385 FG%
-10 +/-

But, Lebron didn't join the Heat in 4/16/10.
Obligatory "OMG TAMERPING" post.
It's obviously a typo. That being said, there's something wrong with the code it seems. For example, Wade is producing at 49.8 points according to this:
http://www.82games.com/1011/10MIA3.HTM, yet he isnt on the list.
Also, in the clutch stat page, it says Lebron played 15 qualifying games, but in this page:
http://www.82games.com/1011/10MIA8.HTM, in the W/L it says he only played 14 qualifying games. Weird.

Yea... takes 82games a little bit to get their **** together from what I've seen
Didn't notice cuz I only checked Kobe and Dirk and the stats/games matched.
Maybe Lebron didn't want Wade outshining him

Looking at the numbers, it seems 40 or 41 minutes is the cutoff point (both James and Bosh have 41 clutch minutes). Of the 2 games Wade has missed this year, one (the Memphis game) added a lot of clutch minutes for James and Bosh that Wade would have missed out on.
In other words, too small a sample size. Which is fairly remarkable, considering Wade's played in all but 2 games this season. Miami just blows out everybody

If I remember correctly, Kobe has been "too far down" on the list of percentages for a couple of years now, and only keeps topping the "clutch points" because, well, he never, ever, passes the ball in those situations.

I used to be on the Kobe>Bron band-wagon..but seriously...how can people ignore stats like this?
I know its a small sample size, but just look at how Kobe actually HURTS his team during crunch time. He has become the definition of a chucker, the guy lets his ego get in the way of winning.

Haha - just saw this. Compiled a bunch of clutch numbers using individuals since 2003 and league-wide data since 2008 and just posted the link to it on the PC board.
http://elgee35.wordpress.com/2011/01/10 ... ince-2003/I'm going to defend Kobe pretty hard here - he's not as efficient as some of the other high-volume players, but even his shooting his above average. It's harder to score in clutch situations and perimeter player eFG% is quite low.
Heck, dude's eFG% shooting has barely budged in clutch situations since 2008:
http://elgee35.files.wordpress.com/2011 ... clutch.jpgNot as good as others, but considering extremely high volume scoring, he's way up there in late-game performance. Let's put it this way, if you think that kind of play is *hurting* his team, then you probably think Kobe just stinks all the time. *shrugs*

This year's sample size is still small, you can't really bash Kobe when we haven't even reached the halfway point of the season. If you seriously think he struggles in clutch situations, watch Lakers games from the last two seasons again.
Overall, his efficiency is rather good especially considering the absurd volume he's shooting at
