What's the difference between these two? Is the only difference is that TS% include free throw? Sorry,but I'm still not familiar with reference stats.

Which one would you consider more important stats in evaluating a player? FG% or TS%?

TS% not only includes free throws, but it also weights each type of shot attempt (free throws, 2s and 3s) in a manner that reflects each shot's relative value. FG% treats every non-free throw the same, and doesn't include free throws at all.

Generally speaking, TS% is a better measure of scoring efficiency because it more accurately measures and assesses a player's whole contribution to his team's point total.

The better question is efg vs. fg% because both measure shooting from the floor exclusively. As OnePostLegend points out, TS% includes free throws.

efg (effective field goal percentage) is a better measure than FG% because it accounts for the value of 3pt shots. Basically, the moment basketball introduced the 3pt shot, FG% became an anachronism.

To give a simply analogy.

FG% = batting average

TS% = Onbase + Slugging percentage.
