For example, if I wanted to know the FG% that opponents shot against the Miami Heat last season, where could I find out?

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but it might be this.

Think I found it:

This should be the shot chart against the Heat for all RS games during 13/14.

Had to enter the url manually.

If you start with http://stats.nba.com/teamShotchart.html it doesn't work. Have to use http://stats.nba.com/shotchartPopup.html

OpponentTeamID is the the ID of the team on defense, in this case the Heat. You can find the ID for other teams if you go to the team site on nba.com and check the url.
You can also change the Season and SeasonType (change "Regular%20Season" to "Playoffs")

Also, ignore the coloring for above/at/below league average in that case. The numbers are compared to themselfes, so everything is average.
