to train. obviously muscles arent the biggest need in basketball, but it plays a roll in how good a player can be
I feel the abs/core muscles are most important followed by back muscles then legs
its important for a player to be in great shape that goes without saying but a great core are the muscles are young basketball player should target

It all depends how often you're going to the gym. If you are going daily and training different muscle groups each day, then I suppose you just circulate. The most important thing is symmetry, making sure that you don't neglect muscle groups. But legs are very important, the old saying, you play defense with your feet has, is and will always remain true.
