I noticed Utah/Houston 203. I'm tempted on the over there too. I know small sample, I think that's why the line seems conservative to me. The Jazz can score at home and can't defend anywhere. Jazz are averaging 212 points per game while Houston is averaging 205. It's a game where Ariza should really put up points over his average.

Only 35% percent of the public are on the over for the Hou/Utah game. I find that to be interesting, but it won't be a play for me.

Oh, this thread will do. Here are my picks for Monday, November 2, 2009:

LOSS New Jersey Nets @ Charlotte Bobcats - Over 175 total points.

That seems like the safest pick of the day in basketball. It will be Raja Bell's first game back so that will give the Bobcats another scorer. The teams only need to average about 22 points each quarter, which I think is highly obtainable. Devin Harris won't play, but Rafer Alston is a decent scorer. Both teams aren't very good on defense and have given up more than 90 each game so far this season. My predictions are 89-94, Bobcats with the win. I'd also look into the Nets at +7. I can't see it being a blowout at all.

LOSS *Update* New Orleans Hornets @ New York Knicks - the Hornets to cover the spread at -3.

*Nate Robinson is out with injury, so that means I'm not even going to touch the point total. Knicks lose depth with the injury, Hornets to cover the spread (-3). Thinking it might be a 8+ point victory for the Hornets as they take some frustration out after losing to Boston.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Sacramento Kings - Memphis with the spread at +1.

Iverson's first game back, playing with a chip on his shoulder, I'm thinking he goes off big time. Just too many scorers for the Kings to handle. Outside of Martin, the Kings aren't that experienced. I'll take Memphis +1 on the road, after looking pretty impressive against Denver and Toronto.

Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz - Taking Utah on the moneyline which is -400.

Okur comes back from injury which provides some nice offense. Not going to touch the over/under total or the spreads, just betting on the Utah to win, regardless of margin.

Edit: I'll be keeping track of my record here at RealGM. So far, my pick record is 0-2.

I'm holding off on the later games until it gets closer to game time. My play so far has been New Orleans ML.

Normally I do that too, but I'm not going to parlay any games tonight. Just straight up single bets.

Ouch, Charlotte/NJ have scored 95 points between them in 34 minutes of basketball. Maybe it goes to OT? :D

No kidding. This is worst than watching my sisters high school basketball team. But it definitely could go to the OT.

NBA is so unpredictable. I knew the Hornets were vulnerable, but playing the Knicks at MSG brings out the best in a lot of teams. So what happens? The Knicks win.

Maybe if enough people are interested we could do a weekly ticket and tally who makes the most or loses it all last. $100 fake start up, no vig.

0-4 today. Haven't done that bad in a while, thank God it was centsports.com and not real life this week.

I'd definitely be interested in something like that Delaney.

I'm taking the Hawks +7 @ Portland. LMA is a game-time decision, but even if he plays I still think it will be a close game all the way down to the wire.

Thanks but I passed on it.

I had three separate plays that night. New Orleans ML, Houston/Utah Over, and Memphis/Sacramento Over.

Good luck man

Here are my picks for Monday, November 24, 2009:

____________________________________

Denver Nuggets @ New Jersey Nets - Taking the Nuggets at -9. Under 199 total points.

Yi and Harris are both out. Nuggets have been playing great. Blowout by Denver.

Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks - Under 223 total points.

Just a hunch that the Knicks will have a poor shooting night.

Boston Celtics @ Minnesota T'Wolves - Taking the Celtics at -12.5.

Celtics smash on the Wolves. Garnett has a huge game.

Atlanta Hawks @ Sacramento Kings - Taking the Hawks at -6. Under 207 total points.

Hawks defense will be too much for the Kings. Hawks will put 90+, but the Kings will stay in the 80's.

Miami Heat @ Washington Wizards - Over 195 total points.

Upset pick of the day, Phoenix Suns +310 @ Orlando Magic.

Stoudemire has a huge game after getting Howard into foul trouble. Howard gets ejected by technicals.

So far, my pick record is 1-4.

No actual plays for me tonight as I am still out of it from my drive back home from Vegas. Damn Holidays!

No research involved!

Miami +2 sticks out.

Lakers -2

Atlanta/Kings over 206
