That'd be tough af..when i played AAU we had tournaments every weekend sometimes 4 games in a day and a 64 game season total. add in 2 hour practices everyday for high school bball plus AAU practices and usually a game or two per week. you'll be dead lmao

Wouldn't think you'd want to be playing in AAU tournaments during the high school season. See no reason you wouldn't be doing i for at last Spring though.

If you have the option to play both during the present day, I suggest not, because it will be very tasking, and the possiblity of suffering a serious injury. Dedicate yourself to one or the other.
When I was involved with AAU basketball I never had the option to play both at the same time. However, that was years ago.

AAU is spring and fall, outside of HS season. If you are serious about your hoop goals you should play AAU. Look for a quality program and most importantly a quality coach committed to helping his players achieve their goals.

BUMP

i'm confused........... are there good players who don't play high school basketball? ...... as mentioned, they don't seem to conflict, unless you make a "too hard on body" argument. but time-wise they are different seasons.

There are good HS players who don't play AAU. I don't know any real good AAU player who doesn't play HS. They are different seasons calendar-wise.

AAU season occurs after the high school season. In my state, it would be against the HS rules to play on another team during the school season, so it has to be.

I guess AAU doesn’t overlap with high school summer league? It used to when I played 10-11 years ago.
