Ive seen him play. Doubt he will grow anymore, he's a 17 yr old sophomore.

He can dunk, though. Amazing athlete. Explosive and very quick. Tight handle. Good strength, he's a scrappy player who Ive seen rip rebounds out of bigger players hands. Ugly jump shot and FT shooter.

His size actually helps him imo. He often splits double teams, going through a whole that is almost non-existent, and lots of time loses the ball for a split second, but manages to recover his dribble before anyone else can react. He is so low to the ground that he recovers his own loses balls before anyone else can react. He gets into the lane a lot of time by doing that - forcing his way between two perimeter defenders, losing the ball, recovering it and then going up with the shot inside the paint.

He's not a true PG by any stretch, isnt around good coaching, and obviously has limitations defensively. He needs to learn to change speeds - he plays at full speed all the time. He plays with good athletes, but they are all careless with the ball, including him. He averages over 10 rebounds a game.

Led his team to the 4A State championship in Maryland and scored 27 points despite getting zero respect from the refs. Couldnt get any calls to go his way but still fought hard.

I dont think he is going to end up at a big school - he is too one-dimensional for powerhouses like Kentucky, UNC, and Kansas. Im not even sure Id want him at my school, Maryland. Im sure he'll put up big numbers in college, though. A shorter Joe Jackson, maybe.

But growing that much in such a short span almost never happens.

Unless he can develop a great jumper or at least grow to 6', he might end up in the D-league or overseas at best. He's pretty old for his class too, so the chances of him growing are even slimmer.

I doubt he will make it to the league, if he even gets a chance to play high major D1 basketball.
I played collage basketball. Basketball at a collage.

High School Basketball Star Aquille Carr Is Back On Track for the NBA Draft

Everything didn’t go as the 5’7 high school basketball phenom Aquille Carr had hoped after he decided to forego college last spring. The often described “most exciting player in high school” has found his trip to the pros a lot tougher than he expected.

“I am looking at Summer Leagues, but I am not (considering) not getting drafted,” Carr said. “We are just thinking about getting to the NBA. We are working hard.

“I just want everyone to know that I am going to be a better person. I am maturing and taking care of my responsibilities. I am trying to be a better player, an NBA player, loving the game more, taking advantage of it. I want everyone to know that I am going to be a hard working person, someone who can be a great role model to young kids.”
