On Sato, I really hope he is back. Big PG to lead our bench unit and play spot minutes in the starting five when required.

When top players are cozy with ownership and have influence on the GM it sets a power imbalance that can mess with chemistry. That player better be the hardest working guy at both ends of the court or there will be a perception of carving out exceptions for the teacher's pet.
Wow. Excellent point!
Though I assume Beal works harder than Wall in practice. But it's true that Beal doesn't appear to work all that hard on the defensive end with consistency. That could have been something that annoyed Dinwiddie.
That and that his offense fell apart during his contract year. What Kuzma was quoted as saying as an explanation for the chemistry issues, though not directly naming Beal. Beal had a hard time adjusting to the new rules emphasis, spending a few possessions a game fussing at the refs and sulking instead of running back on D. But he still took as many shots as he was used to taking, and often threw off whatever chemistry was developing. There is a reason he and Dinwiddie both had better stats with anybody but each other. Dinwiddie sulked when he was not allowed to take a leadership role. Quit trying. Beal kept gunning, but at low efficiency.

Buah…what a shame. Sato would have been a great back up guard for us next season. The rumors about Larkin now make sense…
