We are in the knockout round. 16 teams, 1 winner.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/competitions/fifa-world-cup/2022/bracket/

Tomorrow (saturday), you can watch:
Match #49: Netherlands vs USA - 10 AM ET/7 AM PT
Match #50: Argentina vs Australia - 2 PM ET/11 AM PT

Lets go USA! The Netherlands is an aging and quite experienced team, versus (I think) the youngest team in the World Cup, the USA.
USA stands a reasonable chance to win. They will need to play some good defense, keep composure, and take chances to score. Lacking a good striker, it will be hard for the USA to score. We will see what happens...
Viewership has been quite high for the USA games. I wouldnt be surprised if this game doesnt set some record for viewership.

Going to be a midfield game. US midfield playing well. The Netherlands less so. Been impressed by the midfield.

Robinson will be busy on the left side and Adams will have a lot of responsibilities containing Gakpo.

Decent draw.

The Netherlands are putting on a clinic, less time with the ball, but lethal when they have possession, the U.S has had multiple scoring opportunities, but lack the beautiful game to finish goals, too-much trying to set-up and not enough fast ball movement combined with passing, allowing that 2nd goal with seconds to the half was the back-breaker.

We lack the finishing touch, and discipline. It’s a young team without a striker. NED outsmarted our setup and we didn’t adjust. They played a 4-man high line and punished us when we had heavy touches on the ball. The lack of discipline showed on all 3 goals- we left our man markers. This USA team has promise. In 4 years, they could be something.

Morocco are the Cinderella the tournament. Last African team standing. CAF is still in the house.

Beautiful game between Brazil and Croatia. Croatia wins on pens. This, most likely, was the last time we see Neymar in a World Cup. True star of the game. Brazil had so many chances, but didn’t convert. You can’t give Croatia a chance to kick pens. They’re just too good at that.

Argentina tried to find ways to lose that game, Messi was brilliant with a goal and assist, and first made PK for ARG.

Congrats to Morocco for reaching the semis. First time an African, majority Arab, majority Muslim representative made it this far.
France has to be the favorites now. This is not as strong of a team as previous French examples, but they still stand a good, probably best, chance. Giroud is the type of forward the USA team would need in order to flourish. England had some chances but couldn’t finish. Kane was a bit of a disappointment. Still, they are a young team and the core of the team should stay together and be in the next World Cup, which will be held in the North Americas.

What an awesome final! Both France and Argentina gave us something to remember. Happy for Messi and Argentina. So well deserved.

If we are just counting Muslim countries, Turkey made it to the semi's back in '02.

Best World Cup Final of my lifetime.

Messi finally caps off his international career with what he's been missing.

Mbappe proves that he is HIM... at just 23 years old. Kid is going to be special for a long time.

The PSG camp is gonna be a bit awkward in a couple weeks

Game of a lifetime. Felt a lot like the Netherlands-Argentina game in the quarters.

Argentina dominates for about the first eighty minutes up 2-0, unravel for about 7-8 minutes and let the game get tied up, steady themselves in OT, and win on PKs. Only difference is both teams scored in the second half of ET, but nearly identical feel about the game.

France damn well could have won at the end of ET had it not been for an amazing save by Martinez. That thing was close.
