I actually stopped watching the game at the half, when they were up comfortably, I thought. Amazing!

WTF happened? Saw the score at half time and we were leading by an ample margin! There must have been some type of a huge meltdown…which should not be surprising when Wes deploys idiotic line-ups like this one…

So, yeah, we got some silly lineups in there. At the 7:25 mark in the 4th Q, when we loose the lead, WUJ should have called a time out and changed the lineup among other things. Previous to that, in the 3rd Q, we took some poor shots, and we certainly werent playing D. Team look flat when compared to the 1st and 2nd Q. This loss should not have happened. Back to the tank, I guess.

Some real weird rotations tonight, but typical let down game from this squad. Deni with weak ass looks all night, same by Kuzma (they go hard at a Detroit warehouse party?). Weird rotations once we got the lead, like WUJ thought it was over. Team as a whole just let the air get popped out of their balloon once Portland made some threes.

Agreed. Deni tried to do waaay too much tonight. I have no flippin idea what Unseld was doing with rotations. Kispert tries hard on d, but he’s always crispy, getting burned on each play. Pair him with Nunn, and we’re toast.

Blazers were blazing in the third, but WUJ waited until the lead was gone before faceguarding their guards.

I don't think he tried to do way too much, I just think he thought it was going to come way to easy. Everyone of his attempts was an odd look, you can totally smack him on the wrist tonight for getting ahead of himself and not being focused. I agree with someone else that I would of stayed with him longer, but he did himself no favors on offense, just made it easy tonight for WUJ. I don't think it was because the defense was particularly focused on him, he just looked arrogant tonight.

He also plays for an idiot coach that yanks him for literally anything and let’s Kuzma do whatever the hell he wants at all times with zero consequences

Here we go, in every loss its gotta be the coach's fault. Just had a 6 game winning streak and folks ready to fire WUJ that quick. I also don't think much of Kuz running his mouth after another game where he wasn't very good.

…and of course Coach Wes got zero credit or praise during the 6 game winning streak.

Bad coach is bad regardless of 6 game winning streak or loss tonight. This is obvious.

Kendrick Nunn being a non NBA caliber player is also obvious.

I missed this one so I'm only guessing from following the box score through the night

- Was Kuzma angry because Deni only played 15 minutes? Or that Goodwin or Gibson had DNPs.

- Beal only had 1 turnover but even then it might have been partially on Kuzma for not receiving the pass.

- I saw they had a big lead in the 3rd quarter and then it shrunk dramatically in the end of the 3rd.

- Porzingis had 30 points at the end of the third, but only 2 points in the 4th - and I believe his only 2 points came when the game was already out of hand. Was KP doing anything differently in the 4th or did the Trail Blazers just adjust

- Kendrick Nunn had his first poor showing of the season- in each of his last 3 games he had 12 points- but looks like he struggled a bit in this one.

If I had to guess, Kuzma was upset about the wiz coaches having no clue about the Watford guy. Through the entire game they chose not to guard him basically at all, and he torched them. Think he finished with atleast 19 points, and a number of 3s. Wizards never adjusted.

Coaches mistakes:

1. Short leash on Deni after a number of great performances, and huge key piece of future.

2. Stuck with awful Porzingis/Gafford big lineup, despite Portland playing Hart at the 4, and going small and absolutely torching the wizards with a spaced out floor.

3. Playing Nunn 18 freaking minutes

4. Not having a clue who Watford is and letting him just launch wide open shots all night.

5. HORRENDOUS PNR coverages against Simmons/Lillard. Let them take wide open shots over and over. Never adjusted.

Plenty of other mistakes.

Wiz Twitter is hilarious.

Immediately want to fire Wes. No smoke for Kuz turning it over or being selfish while he had open teammates at times tonight.

And Wes has largely been pushing the right buttons over the last several weeks.

Beal had a good game so Wiz twitter needed to find a new scapegoat.

How is Avdija a huge piece going forward lol? Porzingis - Beal - Kuzma - Avdija does not scare anyone.

I think the problem is that Porzingis-Beal-Kuzma doesn't scare anyone and they are our 3 probably big money guys. Avdija is a huge piece going forward because:

(1) He has shown top defense and decent playmaking and rebounding skills, he just needs to develop a 3 point shot which is something a number of NBA players have added partway into their careers (see Lopez, Brook for example)

(2) No one else on this team really seems to have an opportunity to break through. Avdija probably won't but where else might it come from? The other 3 you mention have pretty much clear ceilings at their age, Kispert doesn't look like more than a 3 point specialist, our PGs have also shown pretty much their range, and Johnny Davis doesn't look like an NBA player.

Yup…Zards have been winning and steadily climbing up the rankings in both offensive and defensive effectiveness in recent weeks.

Right.

& right.

The other 4 starters posted 82 points on 50 FGAs & 16 FTAs -- that's a TS% of .719.

3 of the 4 bench players produced 20 points on 15 shots/2 FTAs -- that's a TS% of .630.
