They are being investigated because they tanked and still had a chance for the playoffs. A dozen other teams are doing the same thing.

Mark Cuban also openly celebrated a missed game tying 3 by the Mavs. And Jason Kidd also admitted that they were tanking in a postgame press conference.

Basically, they were bringing more attention to the blatant tanking than any other team.

I just wish teams could tell the NBA to go ---- themselves over this. Of course they're tanking, everyone under .500 was tanking to have a chance at a generational talent. Its ridiculous. This is a league dominated by having a handful of transformative players and finding a way to add more via trades or FA or the draft. Tanking is mandatory if you want to achieve that unless you're the lakers and can just show off LA and all the banners. The league needs to stop w/the b.s. and own it. The fans aren't idiots, especially in hopeless towns that will never draw a FA ever. What the hell is wrong with it. NOTHING. It's beyond ridiculous they're trying to make it harder, and punish people. Of course people are tanking. You don't like it, fix the league so cities that have been screwed for decades by incompetent ownership, or unattractive locale's have a --- damn chance, otherwise the NBA leadership needs to eat a bag of you know wants and just own their league is a farce, controlled by a handful of players and cities in perpetuity.

Teams have been tanking for years, whether it was for Wemby or Banchero/Holmgren. I don't know what you want the league to do for owners like Leonsis. Force him to sell? He hasn't quite gotten to a Ted Stepien category as his teams are so close to the middle, they can't be bad enough to be good. If he was only a pice of garbage like Donald Sterling, then they'd force him to sell. Cuban is just one of those owners that has to be on the court and show his face. I don't personally mind that he's not trying to get the play-in game with two games left. But celebrating a loss for everyone to see is a horrible look for the league.

They can't do anything to the owners, they can just get their foots off the necks of teams that choose to tank. Tanking makes 100% logical sense, it shouldn't be punished, it's ridiculous that they are punishing teams that are clearly trying to do something in the best interests of their franchise, long term.

Mavs also drawing attention to themselves by playing Luka the first quarter and sitting him out for the rest of the game.

Kispert with 18 points on 8 shots in 12 minutes. And then he doesn't play the rest of the game.

We finished tied with Indy for the 7th worst record in the league. We will have a 29% chance at a top 4 pick and an 8.25% chance at the #1 pick. If neither us nor Indy jump into the top 4, a coin toss will determine which of us picks first.

I'm out of town, hence I was unable to watch the game. But, that is a great end-of-season performance from Kispert!

Note that Todd played 45 out of 48 minutes -- :) -- no need to tank with IT on the floor!

Nice outings from Jackson, Goodwin & Cooks.

I'm happy to see that Johnny kept shooting even though the ball wouldn't go in the basket.

I wonder if he will work on his shot this summer lol. Caitlyn Clark is a better player right now

Houston played 3 rookies. They scored 44 points on 27 shots & 14 FTAs for a combined TS% of .663.
I'd say that's pretty good!

(Not to mention 4 guys from the '21 draft & 1 from '20)

Ask current Philadelphia 76ers NBA championship GM Sam Hinkie what they can do to the owners/teams

If the teams could tell the NBA to **** off, they would have.

Didn't see the game, just lamenting what could have been with proper tanking, IT should have been playing 40+ minutes a game the last 4-5 games.

I think we have a right to be pissed if the #1 pick goes to a team at slot 5, or 6 (I guess I could say 7 if we lose the coin flip (I assume that's how they handle it?), and a lesser but still legit reason to be pissed if 5 or 6 (or 7 in that scenario) moves up into 2, 3 or 4, but no matter what we did, it was going to be impossible to catch the Leopard II/Abrams reboot level tanks San Antonio, Detroit, and Houston were driving, and Charlotte was probably also simply too god awful to catch, but I do think slot 5 or 6 were clearly within reach w/competent management, and in fairness, slot 4 was probably viable too. But 1, 2 and 3? There's just no way we were catching them. We've produced like one or two seasons the entire time I've watched the team that were bad enough to challenge those 3 tanks and this roster simply wasn't bad enough to accomplish that kind of goal.

But am I curious about what slot, if any, makes a leap to #1, or into the top 3 or so and will be paying attention a month plus or so from now when that lottery happens.
