I ate dinner and had coffee with Jessica Lange many times. The problem was she was at those restaurants and cafes with Sam Shepard and I was just at a nearby table. Sometimes Sissy Spacek was there too.

It was on both our calendars.... How would I have described it otherwise?
She was 22. We met in a cafe in a small group of friends.
First response (on seeing her) was "wow..." (she was extremely beautiful).
Second response (on starting to talk with her) was also "wow..." (she was extremely smart).
Long time ago & of no real interest....
