That's no surprise for two reasons -- first off, it goes w/o saying that if the Wizards *must* move Brad, then people will be looking for a very very good deal.

But, I doubt that's the big reasons for low-grade offers.
Instead, I imagine, it's that idiotic no-trade clause -- which goes with him.

IOW, thinks a gm, if he's making it difficult for the Wiz to trade him, then he's going to make it difficult for me when I want to trade him.

Personally, i.e. if I were running things, I wouldn't trade him in that environment. In fact, I'd be playing hardball with him -- as he did in getting himself the no-trade provision. I'd be insisting that he modify the contract to remove that clause. Period. Otherwise he can look forward to a long slow close to his career while watching a constricted team try to build a winner through the draft over a period of several years.

As to "build a winner around BB," that's not even remotely possible.
Of all the players drafted from 2012 forward, only two have played more minutes than Brad: Damian Lillard & Harrison Barnes.

Brad's declining; it's not tragic, it's what you'd expect. & of course, as with any other player in his position, the decline will become steeper & quicker as he ages. That's not a judgment on Brad -- far from it! It's just Father Time doing his perpetual job.

Don't think that is possible according to the CBA
Even if it's possible why would Beal do that. He's probably the 50th- 75th best player in the league but he's in top ten in pay and arguably the most powerful player in the league.

Well, of course, he doesn't have to modify the clause in order to be traded; he just has to agree not to invoke it.

But, if i'm the other team, the one trying acquire Brad, I'm extremely unlikely to want a player with that in his contract.
