Jones can be flipped for a low 1st rnd pick, I would think. That would make this trade: Porzingis for a low 1st and high 2nd rnd pick. That’s not bad.

I will say this again.
You can complain about the low return for KP. But **** swapping tyus Jones who is arguably better and cheaper than smart for 2 FRP ...... Bro that's the really bad deal.

Boston and Phoenix now have their BIG 3 to challenge Denver next year by trading for 2 Washington Wizards. Maybe Kuz signs with Milwaukee and they become the top 4 teams in the NBA next year.

Certainly, Memphis made a bad deal. Jones + #25 + 2024 1st rnd is clearly more valuable than Smart.
I think our part of the deal was just ok, the more I think about it.
Celtics committed highway robbery.

Did they? I mean KP was more than likely gonna opt out we didn't have any leverage. We got some movable pieces and a decent second.

Mods you can merge this with the other thread. We don’t need two different convos on this shxt deal.

Thanks in advance.

I sleep for 2 and a half hours and wake up to pee to see this new trade. I’ll at least say we won’t have Chuck Morris Sr on this team next season and Tyus will net us something now or at the deadline.

Whose traded tonight, Monte, Wright or both???

Imagine how much more of a return we could have gotten if they just made the common sense decision to blow things up at the Trade Deadline last season.

Wow Big Trade but trading to Boston is disgusting.

Kuzma def gone. Morris and Wright going to get traded. Jones too. Keep CP half a season for mentoring JD. Lakers/Clippers going to be thirsty February or another team.

If Porzingis threatened an opt out, then we're lucky we got anything at all tbh.

Once you really step back and think it out once the clippers dropped the Celtics probably said we will take KP will give you these two and 35 good ok hold so we can get a third team. Put us on hold, click how do you feel about tyus Jones? Deal. The pick were probably negotiated between geizz and Boston and didn't include us other than the 35. Which again stupid move by grizzly really stupid. I look at this and see a better all around player imo.

Thats a weird way of putting it. I would expect an injury prone player to opt out of his final year to seek a long term deal. If anything the Zinger did us a huge favor and took on a decent amount of financial risk in doing so. Then again maybe his value on the open market isn't as high as I think it is

One of the top teams to challenge the Nuggets next year for the crown just traded for KP TWICE in one day to get him . Everybody in the NBA can get hurt and most do with nicks and aches ,this is known .But the Celtics moved fast and decisively to get KP not worrying about past injuries. They're about the here and now and KP was one of the most impactful players this past season and looked very healthy . They liked him so much they're going to pay him and fight for the Championship with KP ,Tatum and Brown.

Yeah. Who knows how it works out. But it looks like a really great move for the Celtics. You have to aim for the upside.
