Bradley Beal vs. Jordan Poole

Post#1 » by Benjammin » Thu Jun 22, 2023 8:38 pm

Honestly, for the next three years (although I don't see Poole staying that long) I see little difference ultimately between Bradley Beal and Poole. Poole has had the benefit of playing on a much better team with legitimate weapons while Brad has not. One player is twenty-four years old and the other is twenty-nine years old. I fully expect Brad to have a better and more impactful season this year. But I can also see Brad falling off a cliff if he loses even a little quickness because he is undersized as a wing guard.

I thought Poole for Beal was a reasonable framework of a trade before the craziness started, with more stuff coming to us because Beal was better. The Phoenix involvement complicated things a bit, but the outcome seems OK, I guess. A truckload of 2nd round picks and pick swaps for Wes Unseld's great grandkids when it's their turn to coach.

Poole is a good tank commander for the next year or two. He's not as good as Brad, but close enough, at half the price.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Poole was barely a rotation player for the Warriors in the playoffs against the Lakers. Beal is much better defensively. Maybe he'll bounce back to 2022 levels.

In 2022 Poole was an integral part of them winning the championship. Part of playing defense is getting up off the floor and running back on defense, and all too often Bradley would flail his arms when he wouldn't get a call and didn't get back. Otherwise, sure he is a better defensive player. Of course, it was hyperbole, but the downgrade isn't as massive as one would first believe.

Beal won’t average more than 20 ppg for the Suns. He is not that guy and will defer to Booker and KD.

You guys live in a fantasy world if you think Poole is anywhere near as good as Beal, and I’m not even a Beal fan.

Poole is terrible. And massively overpaid. At least there was a bit of compensation for taking on beal’s contract. The warriors gave the Wizards basically what amounts to shxt for Pooles contract. On top of it, Poole is an a$$ on and off the court. He’s a massive ball hog who takes the most ill-advised shots you’ll ever see.

He was and still is one of my top 5 most hated players in the league, and now he’s a wizard. Good job winger.

I'm not that excited about Poole, his contract sucks, but it's better than Beal's. Goodwin deserved the minutes, frankly.

I'm just content knowing that we just drafted the next Giannis and Jokic.

I give Poole a pass for last year. Playing in a toxic situation and that org barely punished Draymond. I think he's capable of more.

Oh man, I like Poole, but the dude falls down every time he tries to make a layup (which is every other possession), leaving his teammates to play 4 on 5 on defense. One of the most frustrating aspects of his game.

At the moment I'm choosing an optimistic "history-repeats-itself" narrative, that of: talented-but-misunderstood combo guard leaves the Warriors to become a DC legend. Poole is the new Agent Zero.

Oh, and Bilal is the new Giannis. Vuk is the new Jokic. And Ted has to spring for a new trophy case by 2030.

At which time he will fabricate another story about rescuing the "missing" 1978 trophy, thus allowing it to stand beside the 2028 "50th Anniversary" trophy. The press will designate "Every 50 Years" as their motto. Terd will start wearing leather jackets. Man, that'll be swell.

He isn’t and we know it -

But Beal at 50 is worse than Poole at 30...

I also think it’s fair to say getting assaulted at work made it hard to work hard for the GSW....happy for Poole that he is out...wish he went to another team tho...lol
