Kispert was a no-brainer.
Davis was picked so high that I can see them refusing to give up on him too early, so I get that one too.
The only real debate was the PBJ extension. I guess at a cost of $2.5M, there really wasn't much downside except the loss of a roster spot. I still think he is an awful player with no hope for success in this league. I would have declined the option.

We are at a point where the team isn't in cap trouble so why not just hold on to a young player. Worst case you might get something from trading him later.

We got him for the #57 pick in this year's draft, with which GS took Trayce Jackson-Davis.
You probably don't want to see TJ-D's line in the Warriors' Monday night game vs. the Pels: https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401584736

I was disappointed we didn't take TJD. Early returns obviously indicate he has a much brighter
future than PeanutButter&Jelly.

I remember Zards being high on him. I don't recall your having written anything about being disappointed. I sure didn't!

Now, of course:

We could have taken him w/ the pick we used on Vukcevic. Or, we could have taken him with the R2 pick we traded to the Bulls. So PBJ doesn't figure in at all.
Then again, if the #57 pick plays the way TJ-D is playing, then a whole lot of teams whiffed on him, not just us!
In fact, given that those same "early returns obviously indicate he has a much brighter future than" most of the guys taken in R1, I guess pretty much every team in the league will wind up having whiffed on him!

I was pumping up TJD with a late pick. But was okay with the pick up of PBJ, figuring he was still rehabbing an injury and maybe could recoup his upside displayed in HS.
I do think more and more in the NIL era we will see highly skilled players dropping to the 2nd round, and providing instant return on investment. Teams always pay a premium for potential over production, but in the 2nd round seems to me smart to pick a guy who already knows how to play.
Wait til we see all the teams whining about missing out on Zach Edey next year...
