I didn't get a chance to watch this game until just now.
Man, the young guys were really impressive! I love their defensive intensity. Everyone is really good on ball and they're starting to get better in their help rotations. Brian Keefe is coaching them up!
Kispert is in a horrific shooting slump. I don't recall him ever missing more wide open 3's than he has over the last 4 games. He has a WIDE OPEN look from the corner 3 in the middle of the 4th quarter that would have cut the lead to 4 and blew it. Kispert just can't miss those. And when he isn't hitting on offense, he is a liability out there. Defensively, he knows where to be but he is just too short-armed to have much of an impact.
I already like Kyshawn George more than Kuzma. That guy is a player. It was nice to see him finally take the lid off the rim from 3-point range. If he can keep playing like he has been, but also hit 37% from 3-point range, he is a legit starter. He can shoot, defend, and make good passes. What's not to like? I love that he was talking trash with Draymond. The kid isn't scared at all. (And 17 3PA's says he's not afraid to shoot either, lol).
Carrington had perhaps his best game. He made a few more shots going to the basket, which was encouraging. And he weathered the pressure from a very good Golden State defense to accumulate 7 assists with just 1 turnover. I also loved his defense. He has a real shot at ROTY.
Johnny Davis was working hard on defense too. His activity was great, but Steph Curry kept scoring on him. It just wasn't fair. But I liked Davis' mindset. He took on Coulibaly's role as the primary on-ball stopper when Coulibaly was sitting. It's a good role for him.
Sarr was Sarr. Good activity and intensity on defense, and his awareness and positioning on rotations is getting better and better with experience. But his weak base and poor hands limit his effectiveness. I'm fine with that.
