Someone else mentioned it, but it bears repeating. As long as the Wizards are tanking, we will be in position to acquire mediocre SRP's because we are always willing to take on bad salary in Marvin Bagley type trades. So even if a 4 SRP for 1 FRP is bad value in the abstract, we should quickly replace our stockpile of SRP's.

Next year, we will probably sign another JV type of player in the offseason, and then trade that guy for a SRP at the deadline. Heck, we will probably also end up trading Saddiq Bey for two SRP's.

Right. I actually agree with TGW, trading 4 2nds to move up what is probably 10 spots max isn't good value, but we have 2nd rounders out the ass.

This is the part that amuses me the most. A win as far as I'm concerned, getting PIF to state flatly that R1 picks are worth more than a mess of R2. :clown:

2026 draft class is looking to be an all-timer. Getting as many first round picks as possible is the exact move you'd expect a rebuilding team to shoot for. Just keep drafting young talented players and hope the cream rises to the top. Politics so often prevent players like Butler from ever getting a legit chance which is a shame. It often requires major injuries. I like him a lot and think he could easily be a solid starting PG in the NBA. But the G.M. isn't going to play him over an equally talented player he just used a first round pick on. It's just how it goes unfortunately. Luckily for him, he's going to arguably the best situation he could since the Sixers are desperate for his services and he'll have the whole 2nd half to see if he can do anything with the opportunity that has presented itself.

Obviously, *where* in R1 and/or R2 matters. I'd rather have the #30 pick than two #45 picks -- but the same doesn't hold if it's a pair of #31s.

Jordan Goodwin getting traded received similar reactions. They're both backup PGs in their mid 20s, they can be found in the 2nd rd of any draft.
