Considering how significant this is for the city and potentially the Commanders, I thought it deserved its own thread.
I drive by the stadium once a week. It is long overdue for the place to be redeveloped...

Having gone to dozens of games at RFK in the 80s and zero to Raljon, I am hopeful that they return to DC!

Yeah, good for it to have its own thread. I wasn't sure to put it in the Commanders or political thread.
A lot of fans online were complaining about Musk. Looks like the Senators from Maryland had a chance to veto the deal in order to keep the stadium in Maryland but it seems like they allowed it to happen because they probably recognize that the Commanders should play in DC.

Cardin and Van Hollen let the deal happen because at the end of the day they’re progressive Dems who have consistently worked with DC’s elected leaders to do what’s best for the region.

Yup
Wes Moore and Ben Cardin seem good either way this thing goes

It's a political miracle that this DC stadium deal got done, I am shocked shocked shocked that Trump didn't sink it, given it would be another opportunity to control something real estate related.

If they name it after Biden he’ll find a way to sink it. Ha! Worse. The Obama Biden Dome. He’d explode.

Wherever the stadium ends up, which I hope is DC, it really needs to have a retractable roof so it can be multipurpose and host a Super Bowl but still have the elements available.
