Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
I will be interested in seeing how the national mood changes
in the wake of the demonstrations (and Golfy's BD parade) we are likely to see
on Saturday all over the country. Which side upholds
the best traditions of our country. Which side represents
the things that most Americans have made clear they
don't like.

In preparation for Trump's birthday parade, downtown and the mall are being enclosed with riot fences, blocking roads and sidewalks everywhere. The mall starting to look like a giant internment camp waiting for residents.

What was it that Musk wanted to get his fingers in for 3 months, and then walk away. Because it had nothing to do with government efficiency. Its proven his efforts have cost us more money than it saved.
Or, Musk is an egomaniac and thought he could do the same to our government as he did to twitter. Walk in and fire 90% of the firm. Believes he can shave 2 trillion until he realizes that's not the case. Oops, now the number is 150 billion. Except it'll cost that, maybe more, to fire everyone, as you said. Leaves Washington with a ruined reputation and his tail between his legs.
I think Twitter ruined his reputation, his time in Washington only solidified it. Elon does have some support/attention on the GQP side, but he is kind of in the Megyn Kelly - no man's land in terms of popularity and politics.

President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries

BTW - the Trumpistas lost (but will appeal) the court
case which if upheld, will hand control of the NG
back over to Gov Newsome. Not a legal expert but the justifications for federalizing the Guard are paper thin fantasy.
These times have led me to return to some 1st principles.
One I've been thinking about frequently is from the
Declaration of Independence and states that governments are instituted among men and derive their legitimacy from the consent of the governed.

I think Trump is invading California and arresting Senators to distract from the Epstein files and the Elon break up. I think it’s actually that stupid.

The Dems are f****** p******* bro. That would never happen in a million years.
The republicans simply break every law & rule imaginable to get the results they want and it works. The Dems have always been too concerned about 'optics' to stand on anything and have proven they will back down on every tough decision that really matters - and its been that way forever.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
Correct.
It’s amusing to me that Americans call Europeans soft, and are always posturing with their guns about being the land of the free and the brave but ultimately all Americans are cowards myself included. They never do anything.
The French will light their cities on fire protesting over what we’d consider trivial sht.
The Iranian police beat that one woman to death over her hijab and they protested for a year straight against a much more brutal regime than we have here. And now no woman in Iran wears a hijab, even though it is still technically illegal.
100s of Americans get killed by police each year and no one bats an eye.
This country has been slowly boiled alive. Metaphorically, like the frog.

I said this before but if this country had even 1% of the character it claims to have, as soon as Elon did that salute, the entire crowd should have rushed the stage and kicked the absolute sht outta him. No holds barred on his goofy ass.

Grisly and barbaric in no uncertain terms, but few shed tears
for a fascist of our parent's era, el duce, I would prefer
to see the fascists of today prosecuted for the crimes
they think they are entitled to commit. And rot quietly
in jail.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
I've seen the picture of El Duce and his mistress hanging upside down on meat hooks.
I saw Saddam Hussein defiantly swearing before a hood was put over his head, just moments before he was dropped from the gallows.
The worst was I saw unedited footage of the mob in (correction) Sirte getting a hold of Muammar Gaddafi. They spit on him, one snatched hair from his scalp, and another ran up with a huge knife and stabbed him up his anus. Thankfully, they turned the camera away from what I believe were fatal shots to his torso. Shortly afterward, they affixed his body to the hood of a pickup truck and paraded his remains through the masses in the streets. Savage crowds cheered.
Some tyrants get gotten.
In Gaddafi's case, being a billionaire didn't save him in the end.

All demagogues wind up having their bodies dragged through the streets. It will happen to Donald Trump as it did to Mussolini.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
The reason antisemitism is on the rise is because of Israel. And because Israel has taken the stance that not agreeing with their egregious disgusting policies is somehow “antisemitism”. Quite frankly, idgaf. Until Israelis and American Jews reject Israel’s apartheid policies, Netanyahoo, and AIPAC polluting American foreign policy, you’re going to see a dislike of anything associated with Israel. Deal with it.
