Do they have a Wizards/Bullets Hall of Fame?

If so, who is in it?

Better thread material - - Who should be?

For who should be, limit it to (a) what that player/coach/owner accomplished as a member of the team and (b) eligibility starts 20 years after that player entered the NBA so no current players. Not sure how many to limit it to . . . since the franchise is about 45 years old, 45-20=25 pick the 25 people you would put into it (not just players . . . Go Tiny Go!)

In no particular order:

1. Abe Pollin
2. Tiny
3. Elvin Hayes
4. Wes Unseld
5. Jeff Malone
6. Earl Monroe
7. Phil Chenier
8. Kevin Porter
9. Red Auerbach
10. Dick Motta

That's about it. Everyone else was either here too short a time (Bernard King, Moses Malone, Walt Bellamy, Dave Bing) or the team just stank. Maybe you could argue for a player like Jeff Ruland and there's probably at least one crucially important name that I'm forgetting.

If you put together an all-Bullets/Wizards comedy hall-of-fame, you'd have more names. Here goes:

1. Gheorge Muresan
2. Manute Bol
3. Tyrone "Mugsy" Bogues
4. John "Hot Plate" Williams
5. Ennis Whatley
6. Steve Colter
7. Ledell Eackles
8. Wes Unseld -- as a GM, he was a sick joke
9. Charles Jones
10. Doug Roth -- we drafted the blind guy!
11. Rod Strickland -- uh, what's that green stuff on the court?

If I thought long enough, I could go on. But c'mon! In one three-year period, we were led in scoring by Harvey Grant, Don MacLean, and Calbert Cheaney. This is not the stuff of legend.

I forgot Bobby Dandridge on the HOF side and Kevin Duckworth (who was still better than he's given credit for) on the CHOF side.

Would LaBradford Smith count for comedy based solely on the "Michael Jordan's Revenge" game?

That's a good list. The one you forgot is Gus Johnson.

Tiny might be a little high on the list.

Walt Bellamy was another one of the great short-timers who passed through.

Maybe Bob Ferry instead of Red Auerbach?

Maybe honorable mention to Kevin Grevey, Greg Ballard, and Archie Clark.

In addition to Gus Johnson and Bobby Dandridge, I think you should add Bellamy, King, and Ruland . . . I'm tempted to add Jack Marin. Not only was he a good (not great) player here, but he got us Elvin Hayes even up. mmm . . . . Mike Riordan?

On the admin side, no love for La Sooz? (not sure if it's been twenty years since she was a fresh faced young rookie)

The problem with adding King is that he was only here for a few seasons at the tail end of his career. We were an out-of-the-playoffs team at that point, so his one really good season as a Bullet was pretty much a waste. He did provide some highlights while he was here, though. I remember one game against the Nuggets where he and everybody else just exploded.

Bellamy, sure. Jack Marin, okay. Ruland is debatable.
