please specify which roger mason we're honoring here - junior or senior.

Junior I like. Senior is a punk-ass bitch.

There is no more JR, he officially dropped the JR from his name.

Who was it calling him 'Ocho', again? Eightman. Eightball. Magic Eightball. And not the kind DSteve was sniffin after. He puts the 'ace' in Mase.

I started a thread last year saying he can be a key contributor. People told me hes nothing but a spot duty player.

Even if he leaves us, I'll always root for him (unless he signs for Cleveland or Orlando).

Nate, I think he'd accept a one-year deal. Here's why -- when the Wizards play an opponent and Mason has a good game (as he does with regularity), the opposing team's fans always say "Who is this scrub that's lighting us up?". He needs more name recognition. He needs another year of consistent, impressive basketball. Then he'll get the contract he wants.

Sign him to a 1-yr deal, let him make more of a name for himself, and by the time his contract is over, he probably won't be needed with Young having some years under his belt.

Hm, no, I think he's having a good enough year that he'll get a three year deal for about 3 mil each...
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Absolutely. It would be idiotic for Roger to not accept a long term deal (3-4 years) somewhere. I'm sure many teams would be happy to sign him.

The big question, is how long will it take for Young to get to Mason's level of maturity with his game?

there have been a couple pseudo roger mason appreciation threads the past few months. they all died because rogers minutes would go up and down...and his production would go up and down. now that he's getting 20+ mins a night steady...gee, he's producing. go figure.

even though we won the game the other night vs seattle, i was still baffled as to why EJ takes Roger out with 3 mins left and the game still on the line. he just scored on that fast break too...and hit his 6th 3 just before that.

you don't sit a hot shooter. i don't care what name is on the back of the jersey.

If Arenas is healthy and 80% of his old self, Mason won't play more than 10-15 MPG. Probably closer to 10.
