JJ didn't fit in with in with the Knicks though like the Wizards. It would be like the Knicks offering the MLE for Luke Walton, who is a perfect complimentary player for the Lakers.

JJ fit in? The dude just isn't a good player. I'm so glad he is gone.

^^^ You are probably right. He would be useful on defense but one of those players that forces you to play 4 on 5 on offense. Aside from the trash talking, I think Stevenson is better than him.

Uh, everything above is correct. No sane person is going to pay luxury tax money for Bigmouth Stevenson and some skinny dude who can barely get on the court for the godawful New York Knicks.

The notion that Washington's problems in this series are caused by not having Jared Jeffries is too preposterous to even be funny. It's just weird. As in, "have you had your skull checked for cracks?" weird.

I suggest things, SMALL THINGS SOMETIMES, to make steps in the right direction.

Jeffries isn't the answer but IMO he'd be darned sight better than DeShawn THIS SERIES. For one, other than that "O" expression, he keeps his mouth shut and plays. For two, he rebounds very well from the SG position.

DeShawn's threes were huge in the win, but his rebounding has been TERRIBLE in the three losses. His flagrant foul helped fuel a Cleveland run. DeShawn's mouth has helped the media villify the Wizards.

Nobody said the problems were caused by not having Jeffries, but in the first post I told WHO IS NOT REBOUNDING.

I say a lot of things people say are wrong. Most of the time they don't even fully read what I say or bother to consider the context.

As far as Jeffries, the guy NEVER PLAYED WITH BUTLER. He played SF most of the time. Hughes was he SG. Caron's better than Hughes. With Caron, the Wizards don't need a scorer at SG. What they REALLY NEED IS A REBOUNDER. DeShawn's getting 1.5 boards a playoff game.

Jeffries at SG on this team would be terrific. He could defend multiple positions and he could rebound and he could pass the ball.

Trying to get Z in foul trouble; and going big with a starting lineup of AD, CB, Darius, AJ, and BH makes a ton of sense to me.

I just don't think EJ has it in him to do what seems like an OBVIOUS adjustment--match them size-wise. This would help the rebounding and would prevent the Wizards from having to help inside. But it's too obvious, judging by us not seeing it the first 4 games. Blatche with Haywood is too much to hope for ... :noway:

Also, using Young and McGuire off the bench is beyond EJ as well IMO. They should get some burn even alongside Roger and Andray. However, I'm SURE THEY WON'T. EJ and his playoff short rotation .... (short of quickness and athleticism doesn't matter as long as he has eight guys playing and he overutilizes Butler and Jamison even when they're being thoroughly outplayed.) I'm just saying what I feel. (Sorry if it's negative.)

In Cleveland, most likely Eddie will lose this game the same way he always does. Gil will be launching jumpers and Antawn will be logging big minutes at PF, only to get outworked at the end.

Hope I'm wrong ... :banghead:

Help me out with the context then. To start with:

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Butler was the reason Jeffries played SG for us. Caron didn't know the sets and was less comfortable with the ball than Effries, especially in the backcourt sets and switches. So halfway through the year, EJ fit them into the same line-up. They didn't play together? What? I'm confused? You're confused? Do-over?

The finer point with Jeffries was that he actually defended LeBron well beacause he had a knack for taking charges, even occasionally flopping. That's something we should remember and something the team should strive to apply. But we lost anyway, in part because Caron was injured (again) playing with a broken thumb (left hand) and didn't tell anybody about it 'til after the season.

We got to get the Livewire DMacGuire trained up as a reliable back-up to Caron, quick-fast so we have a notch more depth and flexibility at the 2nd forward spot.

Scary doc. Don't know how I forget the year Hayes started most of the season, until Butler broke into the lineup to start WITH Jeffries.

Worse, my soapbox that year was that Jeffries, the next person drafted after Butler wasn't extended a contract after having played his whole rookie deal with the Wizards; but Butler, was given at the time what seemed like a huge contract by Ernie Grunfeld before ever suiting up for the Wizards. I argued that Jeffries should feel insulted and bolt.

Now I remember ....That was only 2-3 years ago, and a season AFTER Hughes left.

How I forgot is a bit scary, though. Moreso than embarassing.

God God, anything can be said about any of the Wiz but don't call Snyder a moron.

And for what it's worth, I've been a Cowboy fan since probably 20+ years before you were born. Let me guess, you jumped on the Wiz "wagon" when Jordan got here, around 6th grade or so?

Sorry gramps, don't be so touchy. I just like poking fan at Cowboy fans in DC-MD-VA area. I was expecting the 20+ years of loyalty comment too

born and raised in the 703 (though I lived in Ohio for a few years) and been supporting the DC teams all my life.

Unlike some I didn't jump on wagons when the triplets came in Dallas or Ovechkin came on the Caps
