Songaila was terrible for a long stretch of the season until he found his game. McGuire was a huge disappointment, yet he had a couple tremendous games guarding Chris Paul. I also remember a game where he had 10 rebounds and most were spectacular. I think he should have been given many more opportunities with most of the starters in and Dominic might have paid of hugely at the season's end.
Dominic never got to find his game the way shooters Songaila and Mason Jr. did.
In addition to the coaching staff protecting the paint but at the same time opening the floodgates on the perimeter, this particular staff as a whole seemed to unilaterally stunt the first season growth of Young and McGuire to where neither played in the playoffs.
Why was it okay for the veterans to play lackadaisacally, at times get totally outplayed, but a rookie couldn't make a mistake in the playoffs?
Why invest so many regular season minutes in Young, even giving him shots with the game on the line back then only to sit him the entire playoffs?
Blatche was frozen out totally last playoffs and even this season I believe should have played a lot more with Haywood on the floor.
For the 1000th time..... drum roll pleaseeeee.
The answers never change. Nor does EFJ.
