Bring back Hoops only if the same guy is inside the costume. In the dark valley between 1988 and 2003, one of the few highlights was Hoops getting ejected from a game by Steve Javie. Now that was classic. Any mascot that can get himself tossed by a ref is OK with me.

The answer to the topic question is NO.
They should bring back a miniature, short-haired, red dachshund, e.g. Alex the Bullet, Tiny, or Tiny II, as mascot.
Perhaps the dog could pee on LeBron's shoes as Alex did on ref Mendy Rudolph's in the 1969 playoffs against the Knicks at the Baltimore Civivc Center.

mascot moment priceless
I was at the game hoops got tossed. It started with Pervis Ellison getting tossed for a "disrespectful" toss of the ball to Javie, then Darrel Walker for protesting and finally (If memory serve me correctly) Wes Unseld. As the refs were gathered together discussing the situation hoops snuck up next to Javie and bent over. He then pointed alternately to his A$$ and to Javie. It took a couple of minutes before Javie looked up to see what everyone was laughing at and discovered what hoops was doing and then ejected him. I believe it was Hoops finest moment !!
