I'm curious as to people's basketball specific work outs. This isn't about drills so much as it is work outs. I'm considering doing air alert b/c my finishing ability has plummetted over the last 2-3 years to the point where guys who are my age and been worst than me for years and years are now eclipsing me.

I think basketball DRILLS is the subject of another thread, here I'm curious about workouts, and anyone's experience with air alert.

I have a video from a few years ago that details the "100 Trips" workout. Basically it's 100 full court sprints broken up into 25 sets of 4. You pick a specific dribble move, say the crossover, and you do that at full-speed, finishign with a layup as if you were on a fast break. After you do 4 full court trips, you stop and shoot 4 free throws to catch your wind. Then you do another set of 4, either the same move, a different move, or a combination of moves.

So you do 100 sprints, 100 moves, 100 layups, and shoot 100 free throws. The tape said you can do it in 45 minutes (obviously it'll take longer if you miss layups or shots and have to chase your own rebound). I've never actually done it but it looked like fun, especially if you get creative with your dribble move combinations.

Interesting...I had never heard of this magazine before but apparently they go through workouts with college and pro players. They have a Chris Paul workout and a KG workout but this Marquette bball team article was particularly interesting:

This is a great read. This is the guy that trains KG, the first third is fluff, the middle third gives you the weight drills w/points of emphasis and the final third gives you the drills w/points of emphasis:

I actually borrowed air alert quite recently from my cousin. he only did the program for about half the time (he hurt his leg), and he still jumped about 4 inches higher, which isn't too bad. i've only been on the program for about 4 days, so i haven't seen any improvement yet. but i've heard that it works and it's pretty effective. i would suggest it.

D*mn you bulletproof, strict confidentiality rules apply

I did about 1/2 of the reccomended first day on air alert (and followed it up w/an upper body workout) and my legs are sore but amazingly my neither my achilles nor my knee hurts. My back however, does hurt--anyone else have this experience with a jumping program?

its been doing air alert for 5 weeks now and my vertical has increased by about 3-4 inches. not bad. if you decided to do it W. Unseld let me know how it goes for you.

Omarv, I'll let you know if anything comes to fruition. Right now I'm just doing a light version of it for a warm up and believe it or not I think it has actually helped. Here is something from Tim Grover on vertical training, with warnings:
