Nice. Dat, Christmas at the Q?

Yeah, after the initial excitement of a nationally televised game during Christmas, the thought of spending Christmas in Cleveland gives me pause. Heck, I'm probably supposed to be in DC during that time with my family anyways.

I won't rule it out but maybe the April game in Cleveland next year would be a better option.

Yeah, there's no chance I can leave my wife and 3 kids on Christmas Day to go watch a basketball game with two guys I've never met before.

April 8th it is!

this actually looks like a tough schedule in the begining and then we can hopefully end with a 12-3 run in the last 15 games. Cant wait for the season to start.

Character? Committment? Characters, yes. Only a couple guys on the team I'd say have strong character. Committment? Not to defense...

No point in posting the schedule. Everyone already knows we're going to finish 42-40 with another first round exit.

Not that I'm complaining, but I'm really surprised that the Wiz are scheduled for both Thanksgiving and XMas Day games. That’s pretty sweet, although I'll more than likely be visiting the folks on Thanksgiving and will be unable to attend the game.

Last year, I went to the C's home opener against the Wiz and I'd like to make attending 1-2 road games a season a regular thing. I'll probably just stick to the East Coast for the foreseeable future. My initial thought is that the late January South Beach roadie might be the one to catch this season.

i can tell you that this will be around for a bit. they're trying to brand the team into the city, and are trying to get away from the one year slogans. so be prepared to have this for 3-5 years. the team will most likely stick with the roster they have now. should be an interesting year.

Again welcome! Feel free to post any inside Wiz info here :D

Since the organization is standing pat with the roster as you say, then the only move left to make if we suffer another early exit is the firing of EJ, how can they not? Any chance of this happening?.....Please :D

Speak for yourself...

I want EG to steal a backup three the same way he stole DeShawn.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

and about the marketing slogan, it's going to be the slogan for a few years so get used to it.

With so many DC denizens from elsewhere and out of town I would be surprised to see a heavy turnout at the Thanksgiving game. Hopefully the squad has gone on a win streak by then to fill out the audience for the broadcast. With Wiz fans that is.

Yeah the past few slogans have sorta backfired (though I liked 'pure energy'). Looks like the team is going to try to make a virtue of necessity: with the core of our team inked to long-term deals, 'Chemistry, Continuity and Cohesion' (or whatever, same difference) are the best hope for success & improvement.

The team can thank DeShawn for that Christmas game. There are few rivalries in the sport nowadays, few interesting stories and compelling 'bad blood'. Shame that the nice guy Wizards get cast as the bad guys persecuting the poor widdle megastar, but there you go, notoriety is better than being ignored I suppose.

the thanksgiving game will be interesting to see the turnout. i think we'll be fine, with it being late enough that it doesn't interfere with the mass broadcast nfl games (not the eagles game on nfl network). i like eddie jordan. class act, and deserves a lot of credit for keeping the team together last year. i think if the team can stay healthy, then they should be set. but everyone knows anything can happen throughout a season. one thing i can say is, it might be close to impossible to get individual tickets for lakers and boston.

I like how the NBA is hyping up our rivalry with the cavs even more.

3 years ago we lost to them in the playoffs first round.
2 years ago we played our first game against them in cleveland and lost to them in the playoffs.
1 year ago we played our first preseason game against them and lost to them in the playoffs.
now we play them on Xmas day.

not a coincidence. hopefully the Wiz are ultra hyped up and kill the Cavs in Cleveland (say that 10 times fast) on TNT.

Let's get Ready To Rule! (I'll miss that)

I'm just glad the Xmas game is on TNT and not ESPN. Gil always chokes during ESPN games for some reason.

Great news about Xmas and Turky day, did'nt see that coming. Lots of weekend home games got to love that.

Does the board ever get together in one of the down town bars before the games?

a few other things...individual tickets go on sale september 15 (i think). but that's only for preseason and november. after that, the first of each month will release the following months tickets. it's going to be almost impossible to get lakers or boston in the lower level without getting a plan. and the preseason game is october 10 v. detroit (not sure about opponent but the date is set). and we have some pretty cool giveaways for our games this year. and training camp should be back down at VCU again...free admission to the scrimmage. not sure on dates yet. stay tuned...

You can sit courtside for any 3 Wizard home games this year. Which are your three?
