Washington has spent much of the last three springs lamenting loudly about how it has lost to an inferior Cavs team each postseason. That's the type of thinking that has kept this cast together, which the last three years have shown may not be the wisest option. Bringing back a pair of 20-point scorers was the right PR move to make, but dealing someone like Jamison for a look that would strengthen the defense or someone to get the ball out of Arenas' hands and into the flow of the offense would have been the right basketball move.

For the record I think the Wizards would have been better off trying to trade up for somebody like Bayless and also not resigning Jamison and Arenas.

I think investing 111Mil on a guy who has had 2 knee operations, and who relies on explosive quicks just wasn't wise.

As well as Jamison plays I doubt the Wizards ever advance far in the playoffs undersized at both F positions with Caron and Antawn logging big minutes.

I think Washington didn't address defense and that they paid top dollar for little better than average potential.

I have to agree, only to add that having EJ as our coach compounds the problem. I see major changes happening next year. EG himself shouldn't be untouchable.

The Celtics weren't counting on Bill Walker until recently.

"We were thinking maybe of sending him overseas for a year," said general manager Danny Ainge. "But the more we saw him working out, the more we saw him here, it was 'let's keep him here.'

"He has had some knee injuries, but it certainly hasn't limited his athleticism. There are some maintenance issues, yes, but I think he's going to be fine to play. He has a chance to be part of our long-term future as well as short-term.

Man, I wish the Wizards could have drafted somebody like that this summer.

Wait...we did? :nonono:

You guys are making this offseason feel longer than it should be.

I made this a thread, LR.

Hadn't read it here first, but I just wanted to stir the pot.

The board's dead because the Wizards took all suspense and all imagination out by paying the moon to resign Jamison and Arenas, but I am still disgusted with what they did on draft night.

Keep the project who they drafted way too high and SELL the talent who they got for a bargain.

Total ass backwards and just confoundingly wrong IMO.

Abe, Ernie and EJ did that.

I still say they should have traded down for Richard Hendricks of just drafted him at #18.

 Essentially, we added little to no depth this off-season, and ended up with Dee Brown as our big addition to the team :(

While I like the progress of D-Mac, there would have been nothing wrong with drafting someone to compete with, and possibly even steal D-Mac's (or another players) minutes. I really don't like the idea of D-Mac as Caron's possible injury back-up.
