Wizards flying under the radar?

Post#1 » by ChrisTheFuturePaul » Tue Sep 16, 2008 4:32 am

Just wanted to say the Wizards are probably one of my top 5 favourite teams in the league and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they go this year. Personally I dont think 50 wins is out of the question if they stay healthy, and if Nick Young and Andray Blatche improve and earn consistent playing time you've got a solid bench.

Heres hoping for a great 08/09 season for you guys :)

I thought they had a chance at 50 wins last year but Gilbert got injured and now all the teams in our division are noticeably better, on paper anyway, so it's hard to be optimistic.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

50 wins is probably a fair ceiling for the team, if all of our key guys can play 75+ games and we get a lucky bounce here or there. And I doubt there's anyone out there actually predicting 50 wins for us. So yea, it's possible that once the season is over, in hindsight, we very well could be labeled as a team that flew under the radar.

Of course, it's a lot more likely that Caron misses another twenty games and some other random thing or two goes wrong (Haywood's minutes cut for Etan, Arenas' surgery lingers, an unexpected freak injury, etc), and we wind up at 43 wins and a sixth seed. But we can always hope for the former.

I saw the title of this thread and all I could think was, "yeah, the Wiz are so far below the radar, they should be considered in stealth mode!'
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
