Who the hell is Donell Taylor Wiz fans?

Charlotte Bobcats fan here and we just picked him up for our training camp to to compete with Shannon Brown for that last roster spot I guess.

Are strenghts and weaknesses to his game? they were saying how he was some lockdown defender in the C harlotte Observer today.

Be very afraid when someone is described as a lockdown defender, that's often code for "this guy couldn't throw a basketball into the ocean". DT makes every potential layup an adventure so you have that to look forward to if he happens to stick on the roster.

Ok thanks

Also just like to say good luck with your season as well I still see you all as a force in the division even without Arenas for a few months if you all can pull together like last year all should be well.

Ben nailed it -- he's a decent defender and an absolutely abysmal offensive player. I mean, I honestly cannot list one thing he does average on offense. He is a poor dribbler, can't shoot, can't pass...hell, the guy even has trouble with layups in-game.

Not that it matters since he won't be seeing PT even if he is taken over Shannon Brown, but that's my summary of the player that is Donell Taylor.

Yes, but is he worse on the offensive end than Dee Brown?

From what I saw in summer league, Dee's offense is, well, offensive.
In Rizzo we trust

In my opinion, easily. Dee Brown is a good ball-handler, an average passer and seems competent in terms of layups. Already, he's up 3-0 on Taylor.

DT won't make their team, but I will say this about DT, he is one of quickest guys I've seen in the NBA......that's about it.

I agree. He's like a water bug, bouncing around out of control and incredibly quick.

That was the frustrating/tantalizing thing about Donnell Taylor. He seemed to have little problem getting to the hoop. His problems were getting the the hoop WITH the basketball and MAKING a layup.

Donnell Taylor is in the 1st highlight of this clip (his twin brother throws him the pass) when UAB beat Kentucky.

I actually think he's a decent defender but he had almost zero offensive game. He could get to the basket but could never finish. He had no kind up jumper when he was here. Maybe he's added something to his game since the last time we saw hi.

I hope you're right. I remember at least one summer league game where Taylor got to the hoop pretty much at will and completed his layups -- olay! I didn't see anything in Brown to suggest he's any more competent at layups than Taylor.

Remember God Shamgod? I once saw the guy practically teleport . . . to the side the opposing ballhandler faked him into going, before blowing by him.
