Dont forget that there most likely were more than just 2 people. If those 2 sped off on a motercycle, then there had to be a car around. They need a car to take you away (cant put you on the motorcycle as it only fits 2 people). Look around where you live and identify places where a car could be kept without much notice and within 30 seconds of your house. Have guards patrol those areas from time to time, or at least put a camera watching those areas (if you can). Lastly, get the heck out of there ASAP.

i dont post that much due to carpal tunnal problems, but Im glad to hear you are ok after your harrowing experience. I have never even been close to a situation like the one you describe and I can only imagine the kinds of things you must have been thinking about after it was over. I'm getting a little older now and growing more conservative every year, so I hope that you take all the necessary precautions to stay safe down there.

There's an article in this week's Forbes (link below) about the rapid increase in kidnapping in various countries around the world, which is scary. I would like to go to South America someday, though it's down the list a bit.

The other thing I learned from this thread is that apparently 1/3 to 1/2 of the regular posters were born/raised in the Caribbean, which is interesting.

I knew this kid whos parents were from down there and when he would go and visit relatives during the summer he was VERY popular with the ladies just because he was from the USA.
