For those old enough to remember, he was a very good role player for the Bullets in the mid-seventies. I was very young but one of my earliest memories was hearing the fans yell "SPOOON" every time he touched the ball or scored.

Same here. He was a good athlete and the kind of player you root for. The one criticism throughout his career - he had to bounce the ball before he shot - no matter what. Even if he was all by himself near the basket, he'd bounce it - as if he thought it was only fair to let the defense have time to cover him.

That's one that was my age (actually a couple of years younger.) A couple of weeks earlier, Mickey Vernon passed which I meant to post but never got around to it. Mickey was probably the best 1B the Senators ever had.
