I don't buy into just playing the young guys. You play the best guys available. What's the upside in playing DSong and Etan you may ask? Well for one thing, it makes it easier to trade them.
Like Javaris, I'm not going to use a sample size of one game to say that Mike James sucks.

The difference: James is 33 and has had a relatively long career, while Crittenton is 20 and has only played a small number of minutes in his one year in the league. It's a bit silly to judge the latter, but judging that former seems well within reason, even if he's only played one game with our particular team.

Re: The Disturbingly Sucky Ed Tapscott Thread
The Wiz can really only have one or two strategies try to hang on until Gil comes back then make a push for the 8th seed in the playoffs and get hammered by Boston in the first round. Or be committed to getting the younger guys more playing time to let them develop and most of all see what we really have. My guess is that based upon the stratgy from the off season, they are trying to salvage the season before they tank. I will give Tapscott a pass for a little longer but I suspect there is no chance he is the coach next year.
If this teams wins 25 games this year it will be a miracle.

He is convinced that everything this franchise does is right. If we traded Caron Butler for Jared Jeffries, Kanye would somehow make up a defense for it and justify it one way or the other.

Tapscott said he will continue to stick with the current lineup, including DeShawn Stevenson, whose offensive struggles continued last night.

Kill me.

People just love to complain.
Sorry guys, I'm not trying to piss anyone off but come on. This guy hasn't even coached for 3 weeks yet and you're already calling him the worst coach ever. The guy leads a blowout game against the Warriors and he's awesome and the outlook is great. He doesn't play Nick Young for 10 more minutes, the Wizards lose and all the sudden he sucks. Give me a break. If the Wiz lose and Mike James or Crittenton don't't play you'd probably say "Why did that idiot leave in Nick Young?! He should've put in the new guys. What the hell did we get them for?"
He has 62 games to give Nick Young minutes. Please for the love of God, take a friggin chill pill.

Guys, come on with the histrionics. Think through the anatomy of a tankjob!
It looks really bad when you're 5 games out of the playoffs with 60 to go to say "screw this, we're benching our vets and going with the our pups. We're playing for ping pong balls and our future."
So what do you do?
You give the vets every chance to get it done -- knowing full well that they'll dig you a deeper hole. Then when you're 10-30, no one looks at you funny when some vets are out of the rotation. I'm full convinced that Ernie has his eye firmly on next year, and believe that well before the season is out that the kids will start to get more and more PT.
But to avoid mass dysfunction you have to give the vets their chance and then some to dig themselves out of this mess.
This team is going to get very good, very fast over the next couple of years. Some combo of health, young talent and a significant trade or to will make it so.

Re: The Disturbingly Sucky Ed Tapscott Thread
Tapscott's worse than EJ.
In the loss to the Sixers Butler and Jamison both played over 40 minutes. Stevenson played almost 38 minutes.
McGee played 5:31 and Young played 4:12.
Worst-case scenario is a bad coach that loses playing old players. Eddie Tankscott is making EJ look like a good coach.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I did not see the game, but I did not the distribution of the minutes and shook my head. Worse than EJ might be the new tag-line for Tap.

I agree. Tap is definitely worse than EJ. And considering how little I cared for EJ, that's seriously saying something.

Re: The Disturbingly Sucky Ed Tapscott Thread
No idea why Young and McGee sat for the majority of the game. It got me mad though...
