LOL sorry, man. Bubble just popped. I'm trying to be happy. I'm happy about the new Wolfmother album lol... But, about this team, I just don't know. I just hear our org dancing around talking about or getting defense (and I know only defense wins championships). I hear alot of fantasy talk that I'm sorta insulted by, because it assumes we don't know that defense wins championships. Whatever. I'll try to cheer up. :) HAPPY FOURTH ALL... lol...

See, now you should have been proppin' Sevendust in the music thread -- otherwise your fellow Wiz fam might never have known about them. I'll admit that, in terms of my taste, Sevendust has some songs that top Wolfmother. But, as a whole, I'll take Wolfmother. For me it's like picking between Living Color (whom I loved BTW) and Led Zep. But, as I said, share. I'm always up for hearing the next thing. Anyway, lata folks... Have fun at the fireworks...

When talking about the 2 guard, he said "At 2-guard, we have Nick Young, Mike Miller, Randy Foye can player there, as can Caron". No mentioned of Deshawn Stevenson.

He also didn't mention Mike James when he ran down the list of PGs as Gil, Foye, and Critt. So what can we get for DeBrick+James?

That's funny, because Randy Foye's heart literally IS on the right side.

Would make a cool movie seen.

"Where do you want it, in the head or the heart?"
"Shoot me in the heart"
*Bang!*

"Missed Biacth!!!!"

He would make a pretty unstoppable Vampire.

Kanyewest wrote:After listening to the interview, I don't think EG snubbed Stevenson on purpose. He was disputing a point that the Wizards are not weak with big men since they Wizards have 3 guys that can play every position; and he went on to name the 3 players that could play each position in his argument. I don't think he mentioned Stevenson because he already made his point that 3 guys could play shooting guard. He didn't even point out that Gilbert could play shooting guard at stretches.

That doesn't really work because he named 3 SGs (Young, Miller, Foye) and then added that Caron can play the 2 as well. So he actually named 4 SG's and still failed to mention Deshawn at all.

standupwiz wrote:I think that not mentioning DS is more of the health issue. Maybe his back is worse than advertised. I just don't think the GM of the team is going to downgrade an asset w/o knowing full well he can't move the guy at least not now. It also says that the contract he gave him was a mistake.

His health seems to be pretty good according to the DC Sports Bog.

DeShawn's health? Tip-top, he said, after missing most of this season with back issues. "I'm back, so we're good," he said. "Just trying to keep in shape and get ready for next year."

(As for the crazy antics of the 07-08 campaign, he said those are finished for now, duck-tail aside. "I'm just gonna wait until we start winning, and then I'm gonna go back to crazy DeShawn."

Again he was just listing players. With shooting guards he managed to come with 4 players when there are perhaps 7 guys who you could say could play that position (Arenas, Stevenson, and McGuire in addition to the 4 that Grunfeld mentioned). EG wanted to make it seem like the depth in the backcourt was comparable to the frontcourt, when it really isn't. People are just drawing conclusions that they want to hear; that DeShawn Stevenson is done in a Washington Wizards uniform. EG is really just saying nothing as he always does in his press conferences/interviews.

Should we take Flip Saunder's statement indicating that Stevenson is one of the 5 guys returning from injury who will be a top 7-8 player in his rotation? I would take that statement more seriously since Saunders actually determines playing time; although I'll take almost all statements made in the offseason with a grain of salt.

Obviously, Stevenson is far from untouchable; but I still see him competing for minutes especially if Young doesn't improve his all-around game.

BTW from the interview, which player did you think EG was happier to get: Foye or Miller?
