Health Tracker & Starting Line Ups 2009/10

Post#1 » by hands11 » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:57 pm

It's that time of year again.

Instead and digging up last years multi-page version I figured we would start with a clean slate.

I'm sure individual threads will post up over the season but it's nice to see one consolidate picture of what happened to our team over the course of a year.

Current Status.

AJ - Sholder - ETA 1 or 2 weeks 11/5
Critter - Ankle - Had a scope ETA 2 weeks 11/5
M&M - Shoulder 7-10 days 11/5
Mike James 11/9 Another broken finger. Hurt it during practice.

GA - Looks healthy and ahead of schedule 11/5
CB - was out 1 1/2 games bruised knee - look recovered 11/5
Haywood - Had a sprained ankle in pre-season - looks fine 11/5
DSleezy is playing after back surgery over the summer - looks ok 11/5

The oft injuried OP and Etan - No longer here

My question is in regards to Caron Butler.
From what I'm hearing he's healthy and all, however history hasn't always been on his side.

How many games realistically do you think Caron will play this year?
Are his injuries a factor of his style of game ala Gerald "crash" Wallace?

Unless you're feeling especially optimistic, it's probably safe to assume that he'll find a way to miss fifteen or so games.

Sad, but prolly true...

So in summary

Most of us thought before the season started that this was going to be a up and down slow start.

We wondered what Gil had.
We didn't even know if he would be able to go full minutes - He can or score - he has
We didn't know if Blatche would be any better - He is
We wondered if McGee would make any process on his defensive leverage - he has
We wondered what the rotations would look like and if we would see and BH/AB or JM/AB - we have

I see those as all great things to take note of.

But we also wondered
Would NY be able to adjust and be a catch and pop guy like rip - so far the answer is no
How would CB adjust to the new offense and Gils return - so far he is still adjusting
Would DS play and if so how well - Looks like his back is ok. He can defend ok but no shoot yet
We wondered would DMAC add a J and how much he would play - so far, not much there

Add to this

We lost AJ
CB missed a game and a 1/2
Now MM missed some of last game and will miss a few more

We all got ahead of ourselves when we won is Dallas to open the season because of all the things in my first list. It looked like we were where we though we would be in a month or two on the first game.

Then a loss to an athletic team we we are always challenged to match up well against so we said, ok, we arent there yet against that kind of team. No a big deal. Something to work on.

Then a blow out against NJ where Blatche look like an ALL STAR and GIL was amazing, so we all jumped on the bus again.

Then a game against LeQueen where if we won in Cleveland we would all be drinking the coolaid, but we lost. Not a huge disappointment. They only lost one at home last year.

So back home to play a winnable game against Miami where we can out flat, got back in it, played neck and neck and blow it down the stretch after loosing MM when Nick isnt ready yet to step in behind him, DS is coming of back surgery. Foye needed to step up bigger and he didnt. We lost
4 pts. Had we won, everyone would be ok. We would be 3-2 and heading to Indy. But we lost, we are 2-3. 4 pts makes a difference cuz we lost and we lost MM and we have lost two in a row. Its the momentum feeling that had people down.

So the momentum was sky high (10), then down (7) then up again (9-10), then down (7), then down again (4-5) after the Miami game.

But if you compare to what we hoped for at the start of the season, we are actually ahead of where most of us thought we could be at this point only we just just lost MM for who knows how long. But go back and read the top of this post about all the things we are ahead of schedule with and things don't look nearly as bad as they may feel right now.

I think the down feeling is mostly about MM and knowing we could have won that last one. 4pts

Well, now it time to see if Nick can show us something. He said he worked hard. Lets see it young man.

You are right, hands11. It's amazing how important 4 points are.

4 more points and everybody is talking about the 4 seed being a sure thing and the 3 seed a possibility. Now, because of 4 points, there is panic and people are saying we'll be lucky to squeak into the playoffs.

Wiz insider says Miller will be out a week to ten days

Looks like we'll be seeing more some N1 and/or DMac.

I can't BELIEVE they let him back in the game with the injury history we have had. UNBELIEVABLE.

Seven to ten days -- HAH! I'll believe it when I see it. Three months AT LEAST. IDIOTS!
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

At 45 seconds he is describing the injury exactly the same way as Jamison described his.

Not good.

Miller seems to pretty consistently miss ten or so games per year, so maybe we're just getting a chunk of those out of the way early.

Wiz vs Indy
Record 2-3 vs 1-3
at Indy 7PM

MM out with shoulder ( first game out )
AJ still out with Shoulder ( since season started )
Critter still out with ankle ( since season started )

NY gets his first start after MM got injured last game. Good move in my book. We will probably see some CB at SG if NY can't get it going or we get DMAC at SG. Also could see our first Mike James sighting at PG or SG

GA/Foye
NY/DS/Mike
CB/DMAC
Berto/7 Day Dray
Haywood/McGee/Big White Dude

Miami game. Now Foye is out with an ankle.

Current List.

Foye - Ankle
MM - Shoulder
AJ - Shoulder
Critter - Ankle
MJames - Finger

Also, NY out do to brain damage.

That leaves us with 9 players.

Gil, CB, AB, Wood, DMAC, McGee, Fab, Davies and DS if you want to count him.

Of those 9, Davies, McGee don't play so there is your 7/8 man line up.

We just arent going to win until we get AJ and MM back.

We so need to make a trade cuz we have to many wasted roster spots - DS, James and NY

Return to Washington Wizards
