anyone think there's actually a chance leonsis changes the team's colors to red white and blue in the near future? that would be so awesome. i just dont know if he'd flip some things upside down in the short term out of respect to abe. i dont expect the wizards to change back to the bullets or anything, but red white and blue is so simple, come on, we're in the nation's capital. At least an alternate jersey or something.
rock the red pt. 2?

Re: Organizational Change
I think a change is inevitable, for the same reasons he changed the Caps colors, but I don't think it's coming soon -- for the reason you point out (and such a change takes time and planning). I'm betting at the beginning of the '11-'12 season.

Re: Organizational Change
wouldn't they have to submit uniform/name changes a while in advance (a season? 6 months?)?

Re: Organizational Change
I don't think there will be much of a change in the near term. when leonsis took over the caps he left things as they were and added a big time player (jagr). it wasn't until it became clear that it wasn't working that he switched. my guess right now is that (assuming they make the playoffs this year) miller and foye will be resigned and concentration will be placed on improving the in game experience to make it more like the caps (less canned music and cheesiness). EG will have the flexibility to add one more piece through a trade but if it doesnt work out after 2 years then there will be overhaul (including EG).
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

On the other hand the lesson of the Cap's farm team shouldn't be lost on Teddy. What I like best about the guy is that he's a consummate schmoozer which might have some influence on bargaining with the Union etc. I want to see deeper rosters with a farm team assigned to the Wiz.
Having Teddy's Billion dollar clout on board might be our best chance to land some of that prime PG County/BMore/DC homegrown talent and keep them around for a while, learning the system, ready for a call-up.
Actually I think the biggest effect may be the brain drain from these boards Bulletsforever etc, with sometime posters dedicating themselves to filling Teddy's inbox instead.

How sweet would it be to have a D-League affiliate the Baltimore Bullets?

I doubt that, to be honest. SB Nation's Caps site is among the biggest sites on our network, and the Caps have a humongous web presence. If anything, the effect will be the opposite.
