OKLAHOMA CITY - FEBRUARY 16: James Singleton #33 of the Dallas Mavericks looks up court during the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 16, 2010 at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

It's amazing that:
A) Singleton's still in Dallas
B) He looks exactly like....

Oh, wait a minute, I think they meant that...

Wow, after that game maybe Caron was holding us back the entire time. I fear now that
Mcgee, Blatche,Howard, Miller and Foye will get us out of the lottery

The Howard/Butler aspect of the swap could end up in favor for the Wizards. I think Butler and Howard both needed a change of scenery. I think Butler will improve when he gets more comfortable with the system and his teammates. I expect Butler will do a lot better surrounded with good playmakers like Kidd and Marion and having Dirk take the scoring burden.

What made the trade bad was the dumping of Haywood for so little relief will always seem like a bad deal.

the only consolation I get from this is that I believe he
would have left after another 30 games anyway. And there
probably wasn't much we would have been able to do
about it.

I could imagine a scenario that would provide even more consolation:

Wood chopping LeWhine violently in the finals... teammate Metawn not standing up for LeCrab.... The Dallards sweeping the Crabs.... LeTravel bolting for Phoenix. Wood resigning here for the league minimum to simultaneously pursue a career in politics.

That might happen at the end of the big contract he gets this summer.

Soon all the McGee haters will say they really weren't down on him.

The Wizards will be better without Butler, Jamison, AND Haywood.

I said a long time ago, too. Haywood doesn't finish and he's not able to do the things like handle and beat a guy off the dribble like Javale. Brendan's a MUCH better defender, but Javale's going to learn on the fly.

I said McGee's a taller Larry Nance a while back.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

ill miss stevenson's never give in attitude, haywood's team defense and 2007-8 Butler.

hope they do well. stevenson always got a bum rap for his personality and haywood was underappreciated for a long time (some of it was his fault (and some ej's) but i give him tons of credit for the way he improved his game every year and kept doing the little things). those are the two things i hope change by the end of the year (though stevenson is the only one i dont think we happen). ive been really down on butler for the past two years but he always was a class act (in public at least) and gave us two great years before that.
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

Lets not muddy up the memory thread. We can talk about what we like about what we have in other threads.

I'll miss Haywood. But at least he will get to play for something this year. Actually we will see all this guys playing for something. Should be interesting.

You have to give EG a little credit here - he did trade Jamison, Butler and Haywood to very promising and winning situations whether intentional or otherwise. Class move.

Haywood is having a nice game tonight...
