Official STATS and NUMBERS THREAD

Post#1 » by ErikChowbay023 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:03 am

I have a been reading a lot today about the production of Jamison and Butler in comparison with our recent improved overall play in there absences. It has really gotten me intrigued with stats and numbers...

I have a question though, in regards to the PER stat... I am slightly confused in understanding which number to read, the exact PER rating or the Efficiency number right next to it.

For example, I have read that Michael Jordan had exactly four seasons with his PER being 30+... But when I look through all the stats on Draft Express, the closest he came to having 30 was when he had 29.0 in the 1990-91 season.. Although his efficiency rating was 32.7

If some body could help me understand how to read these stats a little better it would be greatly appreciated...

This thread could also be used to talk about all stats for players on the Wizards currently, or further discussions about plus minus, and efficiency stats...

Scroll down to "Advanced".

In the column designated "PER", you will see that Jordan posted a PER of 31+ for 4 years straight.

Thanks... I wonder why Draft Express splits it into two categories..
