Livingston will have several teams after him, so he'll likely sit back and see how things develop over the summer. Good for him. Hopefully the Wizards can sign him.
This last couple weeks has made the season a little less painful. A couple thoughts/questions:
1. Have the posters who've been calling for McGee and Young (and Blatche) to play more minutes no matter what been proven right?
2. If you started the season over today and added back a few pieces to this team (Josh Howard) and had reasonable health, would they make the playoffs?
3. Are the Celtics pretty much done? I'm actually surprised that their window has stayed open as long as it has.

1) I don't think so. Both players have stepped up their games after being "awful" at times earlier.
2) I think WITHOUT A DOUBT. Just the emergence of Livingston/Blatche/McGee looks like it may be enough to be an EC playoff team. Those guys are coming on STRONG. With Arenas and a lottery pick (and perhaps Josh Howard at a reduced rate), this is a much better basketball team than anyone thinks.
3) Yes. Father time is undefeated and the C's are facing Him in a 7 game series.

In addition to JJ's point, one thing I would mention with McGee is that he's not really playing huge minutes now even with his uptick in play. Oberto has a nice little stint to hack the opposing starter in the 1st and 3rd, and with that working well, so it's not like McGee is "play[ing] more minutes no matter what". He's also constantly in foul trouble too.
The asthma/wind issue appears to be very real too, as in that Boston game he was really dominant for a while, but I think when you're watching him closely you have to say to yourself "alright, he's needs a breather, take him out" because he can't as yet maintain the kind of whirlwind physical output that makes him effective.
I think his current role is perfect for now, but if he gets better in his post defense, increases his stamina (and that might not be easy to do) and stops with all the fouls, he could obviously expand that.
