Haywood was on the Wiz for how many years? And when did he ever set a tone for anyone?

It was just a few years ago that Boston went from worst to best in 1 year mainly by making 2 trades. So, yes it is possible for the Wiz to be top 4 in the East next season.

Haywood set as much of a tone as he possibly could in the face of an all offense, no defense, no toughness and no accountability culture proliferated in part by the likes of EJ, Jamison, Arenas, Butler, etc. Bill RUssell himself couldn;t have have overcome that.

Boston turned the #5 pick, a massive expiring contract, Al Jefferson, Delonte West, Wally, Gerald Green, etc into two all-stars with enormous contracts. The Wizards don't have nearly the asset base no the supporting cast to make similar moves with similar impact.

Slow incremental rebuild. Getting impatient will hurt the team's upside.

I'm still trying to figure out what's worse; playing Etan Thomas over Brendan Haywood or Erik Dampier over Brendan Haywood? I would say Dampier over Haywood because Haywood is a better player than he was back in 06-07.

Right... there's no chance we make a quick turnaround without having... a Gerald Green..., a Delonte West...., and a Wally.... to trade.

Obviously, I don't exdpect them to win the NBA champioship next season like the Celtic did, again - I was talkig about finishing in the top 4 in the conference. The Wiz have a similar pick. The Wiz have plenty of cap room. Blatche is just as good a player as Jefferson was. If they had Haywod back, he'd be the equivalent of Perkins. They have a possible star player in Arenas. Howard can fit the Posey role perfectly. Livinston is a player who can help win games. Thornton is a piece. McGee is a piece. There are a lot of ways things can go. Maybe whoever our GM is finds his version of Kevin McHale to trade with. Maybe Ted and him get lucky in free agency. We'll have to wait and see what develops.
