Has anyone else seen Jordan Crawford play? He's so quick and he's a great ballhandler and has really impressed me as a playmaker as well. I think he has a better chance of being Atlanta's PG of the future than Jeff Teague does.

That bodes well for Crawford because he's definitely a scorer. If he can make plays he might start ahead of Teague and Bibby.

I saw him play while donating blood on Tuesday. Luckily, the guys who run the blood bank at Red Cross' Holland Labs are huge basketball fans. I was very impressed with Crawford. At first, I was wondering why in the heck Atlanta was playing Jamal Crawford in a Summer League game. Their games seem to be somewhat similar.

Btw, NCM fans - in his second game, he played 6 minutes and went 0-4 from the field.

He hurt his wrist. He sat out the next game.

I am trying to understand Wall's poor shooting percentage. He admitted to having poor choice in shot selection. See: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcspor ... id=artslot . However, I want to know how many of those missed shots were done in trying to draw a foul, and how many actually resulted in a foul call. Anyone?

When you get fouled in the act of shooting, it doesn't count as a field goal attempt (unless you make it).

Wall had a pretty decent shooting percentage in his first two games. In his third game he was bad, but not quite as bad as the numbers suggest. He got stuck with the ball several times with just a few seconds left on the shot clock and had to throw up a really bad shot.

Over the 3 games so far, his eFG% is just 35%, but his TS% is 52% thanks to the ridiculous number of free throws attempted and made. To put it into context, he's a slightly more efficient scorer than Allen Iverson was in his first 7 years and he gets to the FT line even more often the Iverson.

It's summer league though, where FTs are ridiculous. Players regularly draw double digit FTs.

On a positive note, he can use that as an excuse when he doesn't make an NBA team for the upteenth consecutive year. And we can look forward to seeing him again year in Vegas.

Mannix SL report  Props to JaVale (yes, we know it's only summer league)

Three Summer League standouts

JaVale McGee, Wizards -- The 7-foot-1 center is averaging 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds while showing an improved post game and good chemistry with Wall on the floor. McGee, 22, the 18th pick in 2008, packed on seven pounds in the offseason and, according to Grunfeld, grew another inch.

Derek Caracter, Lakers -- While there are some questions about Caracter's energy level -- more than one scout thought he gave up on some plays too quickly -- there is no denying his talent. Caracter, the 58th selection last month, is averaging 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds, often overpowering opponents with his 6-foot-9, 275-pound frame.

DeMarcus Cousins, Kings -- The No. 5 pick is imposing, but what's really impressed onlookers has been his perimeter shooting. The 6-11 Cousins (18.3 points, league-high 11.3 rebounds in three games) torched fellow lottery pick Greg Monroe of the Pistons earlier in the week, and at least one coach believes his shot is efficient enough for him to play power forward.

Cousins just got his shot spiked by Ed Davis!

Edit: Davis is shutting Cousins down big time

That doesn't surprise me about Davis. I saw Varnado give Cousins fits. Quick guys who move their feet and block shots can stifle some of Cousins' finesse moves. They also don't let him use contact to his advantage.

What I want to see is how Cousins rebounds and adjusts to players like Ed Davis (who I think will be really good for Toronto. He and Amir Johnson will fare nicely IMO)

Cousins also had 10 fouls and 6 turnovers. He hasn't shot 50% from the floor yet in summer league

The real question for him in the NBA is whether or not he can avoid foul trouble. If he can stay on the floor, he's going to be an effective player.
